NFL running back Nathan Carter wants his fans to understand that there is more to life than material things.

“There is more to life than being rich or famous. There is more to life than having lots of followers. There is more to life than material possessions, smoking, drinking, and partying every weekend. There is more to life than those meaningless idols that you’re chasing. There is more,” Carter wrote on social media. “God has so much more for you. He has purposes for your life that are beyond human imagination. Promises that He wants to fulfill through you. Blessings that He wants to give you. A relationship that He desires to have with you. And so much more.”

The running back discussed how the world will tell you that you can do whatever you want and you don’t need God in your life.

“This world tells us lies that say we don’t need God, that we can function better without Him. That we can live our lives living our truth, following our hearts, and dying. That’s supposed to be a good life…right? We only live once, right?…. It’s all a lie,” Carter said. “And you know it. And you’re looking for something more than what the world has offered because it isn’t good enough. It will never be good enough. But Jesus is. And that ‘more’ that you’re seeking is found in Jesus Christ.”

“We’re all seeking something. The amazing thing is that we have an all-loving God who is seeking us,” he continued.

Carter shared a quote by Got Questions Ministries that reads, “Life’s highest honor is to be pursued by the Creator of the universe and offered an invitation to become His own child.”

“You will not experience a rich and satisfying life apart from Jesus, no matter how hard you try,” Carter wrote before referencing John 10:10: “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

“The ruler of this world, Satan, wants to steal your joy, kill your dreams, and destroy your life,” the athlete continued. “And Jesus is offering you a rich and satisfying life through Him. Jesus gives, and the world takes away…which one will you choose?”

He concluded his post with one final Bible verse, Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, which reads, “That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.’’

“Living for God and His glory is the goal of life. I encourage you…Try Jesus. Seek Him, accept His invitation to ‘come and see’ that He is good and He will show up. And I promise you, you won’t be disappointed when you do,” Carter finished.

In a culture that chases fulfillment in all the wrong places, Carter’s message is clear: true purpose, lasting joy and a rich life can only be found through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
