CBS just cut WATSON and DMV due to dips in viewership.
According to US Weekly, WATSON viewers lost interest after Season 2 got delayed so it could be moved to Monday slots after CIA, and DMV will make room for the first seasons of ETERNALLY YOURS and THE TILLBROOKS.
WATSON’s final episode will air May 3, and DMV’s will be May 11.
“We are sad to see this great series go but its [sic] so worth watching!” said WATSON star Morris Chestnut.

Rochelle Aytes, who plays Dr. Mary Morstan in the series, wrote, “I am saddened by the news of our cancellation, but we still have a handful of entertaining episodes for you!”
CBS renewed 12 dramas for next season, including MARSHALS, CIA, SHERRIFF COUNTRY, EINSTEIN, CUPERTINO and BOSTON BLUE. The network has had a lot of success with MARSHAL’s first season.
“MARSHALS delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV’s most powerful new series,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said. “The overwhelming viewer response speaks to the strength of the YELLOWSTONE world, the bold, character-driven storytelling from the creative team and the dynamic cast performances led by Luke Grimes.”
MARSHALS and TRACKER were the top two most-watched shows in their premiere weeks. MARSHALS was the most streamed episode ever on Paramount+. BOSTON BLUE and SHERIFF COUNTRY are also a hit on Friday nights.
“Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits with audiences quickly embracing Boston Blue and Sheriff Country across broadcast and streaming,” Reisenbach shared. “These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera that make these series truly stand out.”
Deadline writer Nellie Andreeva said CBS also decided the fate of THE NEIGHBORHOOD. It will not be renewed. Its final episode is May 11.
“I hear ETERNALLY YOURS has been delivered to the network and has received an enthusiastic early response,” Andreeva wrote. “Eyed as a companion to GHOSTS, filming in the same Montreal location under the same showrunners, ETERNALLY YOURS had been a considered a strong series contender since the script stage, with its frontrunner status now solidified.”
“Meanwhile, I hear the taping for TILLBROOKS went well, with that pilot getting delivered to the studio this weekend,” she said. “It is unclear whether CBS could pick up both to series but, with both THE NEIGHBORHOOD and DMV departing, that is not out of the question.”
It looks like the cancelations will make way for some interesting new content.
