Drew Scott revealed he would be making a guest appearance on the season 19 finale of MURDOCH MYSTERIES as the “charming and dangerous” Cecil Winchester.
“He’s sad, he’s looking for change,” Scott teased about his character. “Maybe he could be the best addition to Murdoch’s team, so maybe he’s gonna come back in the future. Maybe he could help Murdoch figure out some of these issues. He’s only lived in New York for six months. It’s an easy move to come to Toronto, why not? … That was amazing. I had so much fun.”

While Scott is known for flipping houses on HGTV, he was pursuing acting prior to starting PROPERTY BROTHERS with his brother Jonathan.
“Acting has always been my first love, and I’m excited for people to see a different side of me…” Scott said. “It was great. It was a little side thing. I was pursuing acting back in the day and between gigs a friend of mine who was the stand-in for the character Lex Luther said, ‘Hey we need a fill to do some stand-in and some photo doubling for Superman,’ and I’m like, ‘And you’re looking at me?’ So that was just a fun gig I did a little bit.”
Scott is not the only person who got to live out a lifelong dream through MURDOCH MYSTERIES this season. Amber Marshall was excited to appear on the show as Annie Oakley earlier this year.
“To be able to take part in not only the history of that, but representing it…this is so cool for me,” Marshall said.
“I was practicing jumping on my horse in a dress. This is something that in 19 years of being on HEARTLAND I’ve never had to think about before, so it’s been really fun and it’s a whole different way of looking at a character and being able to play that persona and really dive into the past,” she added.
MURDOCH MYSTERIES follows the young detective Murdoch in the early 1900s as he uses budding forensic technology and techniques to solve murders. The Canadian show has garnered an audience across the world and now airs in over 150 countries.
It is exciting to see Scott be able to live out this dream and get a chance to stretch his acting chops. The season 19 finale of the show – which is the episode Scott will appear in – will air on Monday, April 13 in Canada before receiving a wider release later this year.
