Former reality star turned politician Spencer Pratt shares how he makes peace with the struggles and sufferings of this world.
“You know one thing [wife] Heidi, because she’s my preacher for all these years, will always say, because…when you look at things going on the world, and everything’s so tragic. And I’ll be like, ‘Well, what’s going on here, honey, why? Like, why is God allowing this?’ And she’s like, ‘Well, we’re not in heaven, Spencer,’” he told “Off the Vine” host Kaitlyn Bristowe about why he has hope.
THE HILLS star continued, “I’m like, ‘Oh, good point.’ So as much as we, as humans and in the flesh see this reality as this, God didn’t tell us this is some perfect place. We’re not in heaven. So this is a spiritual battlefield, and I’m going to do my best in this life now to go against evil and stay as true to my heart as possible.”
“I just think about for how much evil is on this earth, there can be so much good, and however I can be to stop evil at this point, feels like a purpose,” he emphasized.

“Spencer Pratt preaching!!! 👏👏 This is not our home!” one person said. Another added, “Let’s goooo! 🙌 I pray he wins and God transforms Los Angeles using Spencer as a powerful vessel!!! Wouldn’t that be such an amazing testimony! 🙌🙏🙌”
Pratt is currently running for mayor of Los Angeles, a move that many reality fans have been surprised by but supportive of.
“We’re not going to do fentanyl in the streets and in the parks. That’s done. Zero tolerance,” he told Fox News of his plans for the city. He added, “No more encampments. My priority is to have all criminals be locked up, [including] illegal rapists, murderers, drug dealers, child traffickers.”
He expressed his desire to see those struggling with addiction be truly set free.
“If you have a drug problem, we’re going to get you treatment…You can’t leave until we help get you sober and healthy,” Pratt said. “We’re not going to pay for people to go out, do fentanyl and come back.”
Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.” People prosper when a leader encourages godly values, and it’s encouraging to see someone trying to do that in one of the most influential cities in the world.
