ENDER’S GAME comes in first
Liongate’s first sci-fi movie of the month topped the box office with $28 million followed by the despicable BAD GRANDPA and LAST VEGAS. In fourth came the new animated movie FREE BIRDS with GRAVITY rounding out the top five.   Next week the Thanksgiving/Christmas movie season gets into full swing with THOR: THE DARK WORLD. For families look for the wonderful Disney animation FROZEN, in limited release November 22 and opening wide November 27.

Disney, was winning the box office average by a wide margin until it released its first LLL movie of 2013, THE FIFTH ESTATE, I bombed worse than THE LONE RANGER. Warner Bros and Sony bring up the rear in box office average with an abundance of foul language.

The major studios appear to be on a violence binge. In an era when many are calling for gun control, Hollywood appears to be out of control in its love for guns and explosions.
