Review:

In INNOCENT BLOOD, a vampiress bites off more than she can chew when her victim turns out to be a high-ranking mafioso. In Pittsburgh, French-American vampiress named Marie accepts a ride from Sal Macelli, a sleazy mafioso in his 50's. His sexual advances cause Marie to fight back by gnawing on his flesh. Discovered by his body guards, Marie is unable to finish him off completely, which allows Macelli to live as "Undead." Wearing the blood-stained clothes he died in, Macelli returns to the mob. As a vampire, Macelli takes his men aside, one by one, to gnaw on their flesh. In an attempt to stop Macelli, Marie enlists the help of detective Joe Gennaro. INNOCENT BLOOD climaxes to a gory showdown in which people are beheaded, knifed in their stomachs, or suspended above a grinding trash compactor. Macelli himself is doused with gasoline and burned alive. To heighten the perversion, the finale takes place in a striptease bar, with plenty of topless dancers.
INNOCENT BLOOD is a pornographic movie that should never have been released with an R-rating. Much of the storyline subtlety perverts the atoning blood of Christ, the resurrection, as well as eternal life.
