Content:

(PaPaPa, HoHo, B, LL, V, SSS, NN, A, DD, MMM) A very strong pagan worldview where having sex is like having a meal, plus some homosexual references, slightly minimized by a morality tale message at the end; 15 obscenities and zero profanities; a murder takes place off screen; sexual desires are a central issue in the movie so there are scenes of seduction and depicted sex plus discussions about a homosexual relationship; upper female nudity; alcohol use; smoking and drug use; and, horrible role models.

Summary:

In the French movie THE GIRL FROM MONACO, a famous defense lawyer gets involved with a beautiful young seductress and learns there is a price to be paid for giving in to lust. The movie’s pagan worldview, foul language, sex, and nudity make it entirely unacceptable for Christian, media-wise viewers.

Review:

In the French movie THE GIRL FROM MONACO a famous defense lawyer gets involved with a beautiful young seductress and learns there is a price to be paid for when giving in to lust. The worldview, language, sex, and nudity make the movie entirely unacceptable for discerning, media-wise audiences.
The movie opens with Bertrand coming to Monaco to serve as defense lawyer for Edith, who stands accused of murder. Christophe is hired to serve as Bertrand’s bodyguard during the trial. Bertrand is seduced by Audry, a vivacious young weather reporter. Audry, who had a previous brief relationship with Christophe and many other men, leads Bertrand into public behavior that is most unbecoming for a respectable lawyer.
Christophe tries in vain to discourage Bertrand from continuing with his reckless relationship with Audry. Audry’s presence at the trial, as Bertrand’s scantily dressed fan, becomes an embarrassment. As the trial nears its conclusion, Audrey presents Bertrand with a video she plans to televise showing what a friendly and fun celebrity lawyer Bertrand is. Bertrand has Christophe keep Audry out of the courtroom on the final day of the trial, with disastrous results.
THE GIRL FROM MONACO wallows in a godless lifestyle where sex is almost like having a meal. It does conclude that there are dangers involved, but the path in getting to the conclusion is full of foul language, sex, nudity, drugs, and alcohol. Monaco comes off as a debauched society. MOVIEGUIDE® thinks media-wise viewers will want to avoid THE GIRL FROM MONACO like they would a disease.
