THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA is a B movie spoofing B movies, particularly low-budget science fiction movies of the 1950s. Director Larry Blamire stars as Dr. Paul Armstrong, a scientist who heads into the mountains with his wife Betty in search of a recently fallen meteor that may contain the rare element atmosphereum. Also in the area is sinister scientist Roger Fleming, who’s hunting for atmosphereum in order to resurrect the evil Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, whose mental powers may help Fleming take over the world. Unknown to them, a second apparent meteor turns out to be a crashed alien spaceship from the planet Marva. The couple inside, Krobar and his wife Lattis, need atmosphereum to repair their spaceship. Unfortunately, their pet mutant has escaped and is terrorizing the countryside.

THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA has all the goofy scientific notions, bad acting, unconvincing effects, and stupid dialogue from the worst of the 1950s science fiction movies. This time, however, the badness is intentional. Relatively family friendly, the movie provides a light diversion and may tickle the funnybone of those who fondly remember such 1950s movies as IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE.

(H, O, B, L, V, S, A, M) Very light humanist worldview lauds science, and skeleton and aliens have paranormal occult powers, but this is played strictly for laughs, as well as some moral elements where people offer to help one another by sharing and married couples are in love; light language contains two or three words like “heck” and a “damn” and two light profanities (“My God”); light violence played mostly for laughs includes implied off-screen murders and mutilations by alien mutant monster and fighting; scientist uses alien weapon to morph animals into beautiful woman, whose silly, seductive old-fashioned dancing hypnotizes married scientist to take powerful new mineral to mad scientist; no nudity; light alcohol use; no smoking; and, lying and stealing.

Relatively family friendly, it may tickle the funnybone of those who fondly remember such 1950s movies as THE CRAWLING EYE and IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE.

Director Larry Blamire stars as Dr. Paul Armstrong, a scientist who heads into the mountains with his wife Betty in search of a recently fallen meteor that may contain the rare element atmosphereum. Also in the area is sinister scientist Roger Fleming, who’s hunting for atmosphereum in order to resurrect the evil Lost Skeleton of Cadavra whose mental powers can help Fleming take over the world. Dr. Fleming discovers that the aliens are after Dr. Armstrong’s atmosphereum from the first meteor. He steals one of the alien’s gizmos to morph four different forest animals into a beautiful female seductress, whom Fleming names “Animala.” Fleming, Animala, and the aliens pose as two separate couples in order to steal Dr. Armstrong’s source of atmosphereum. Eventually, Dr. Fleming succeeds in stealing the mineral and resurrects the sniping and grumpy Lost Skeleton, who begins to take over everyone’s mind.

THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA has all the goofy scientific notions, bad acting, unconvincing effects, and stupid dialogue from the worst of the 1950s science fiction movies. Only this time, the effects are completely intentional.

THE LOST SKELETON opens with an old cartoon about dancing skeletons that may scare younger children. The movie itself is very tame, although there is a scene where Animala’s dancing hypnotizes Dr. Armstrong to take the atmosphereum to Dr. Fleming. Also, the lost skeleton’s mental powers are paranormal, a sign of the occult, but this is played strictly for laughs.
