Kim Kardashian has been revealed as the secret bidder behind the purchase of her later father’s Bible from the O.J. Simpson estate.
“My dad’s Bible that he had given to O.J. was up for auction, and I contacted the attorney to O.J.’s estate to offer to buy it without having to go through the auction, and those emails allegedly leaked on TMZ,” she said during a recent episode of THE KARDASHIANS.
The leaked emails led to more people bidding on the Bible. Kardashian didn’t “want to be used” to raise the price of the item, so she “used an alias to bid on the Bible so that my name wouldn’t be traced back to it.”
In the episode, Kardashian shows the Bible to her daughter, North, and tells her “This is really special to me because this used to be my daddy’s.”

In March, it was reported that the Simpson estate had rejected Kardashian’s $15,000 bid for the Bible, which her father, Robert Kardashian, had given to his friend.
The Bible contained a note from Robert to Simpson that read, “O.J., this book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you.”
“The amount is why I had no choice, because why would I spend $15,000 of estate money — why would I spend $15,000 in attorney’s fees — to sell it to Kim for $15,000?” Simpson’s estate executor Malcolm LaVergne told PEOPLE at the time. “That’s a zero-sum game. That’s a bad business model. If Kim had offered $150,000 for it, we would’ve been in court getting this approved outside of the auction.”
“Kim can bid on it online,” he continued. “She may even get it cheaper than the 15 grand, so who knows.”
Kardashian has previously spoken about her Christian faith, telling GQ, “I’m probably more religious than most people guess,” sharing that she prays with her children every night and reads Bible stories to them from the same books Kardashian read to her and her siblings from when they were young.
“[My faith is] how I manage life. I look at everything as lessons,” she said. “Things happen exactly the way that they are supposed to and take you exactly where you need to be. Even if it doesn’t make sense at the time, it’s leading you to a path.”
Kardashian is surely thankful to have this piece of her father’s life back in her possession!
