A Bible given to O.J. Simpson by friend Robert Kardashian just sold at auction for over $80,000.
“A token of friendship and support, during a tumultuous period of late Hall of Famer O.J. Simpson’s life, Simpson’s friend and lawyer, the late Robert Kardashian, gifted this personalized copy of ‘The Living Bible’ to Simpson, leaving a heartfelt inscription dated June 18, 1994, the day after the infamous Ford Bronco chase,” a description of the item on auction website Goldin reads.
The item description calls the Bible “a testament to their friendship, speaking volumes of the type of friend Kardashian was during his lifetime.”
The Bible was part of an auction of Simpson’s possessions following his 2024 death from prostate cancer. There were 49 bids before the Bible sold for $80,276.

In an inscription in the inside cover, Kardashian wrote, “OJ…This book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you,” per Page Six.
Simpson and Kardashian met in college, both attending USC. Their friendship continued into adulthood, going into business and spending time together with their families.

Kardashian would go on to represent Simpson during his trial after he was accused of murdering ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. He was ultimately found not guilty.
Kardashian’s daughter, reality star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian, reportedly tried to purchase the Bible for $15,000, but her offer was rejected.
“The amount is why I had no choice, because why would I spend $15,000 of estate money — why would I spend $15,000 in attorney’s fees — to sell it to Kim for $15,000?” Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson’s estate, told PEOPLE, calling it “a zero-sum game” and a “bad business model.”
Kim has previously spoken about her father’s devout Christian faith, which is something he instilled in her.
“I’m probably more religious than most people guess,” she told GQ, sharing that she prays with her children every night and reads Bible stories to them from the same books Kardashian read to her and her siblings from when they were young.
Kim continued, “[My faith is] how I manage life. I look at everything as lessons. Things happen exactly the way that they are supposed to and take you exactly where you need to be. Even if it doesn’t make sense at the time, it’s leading you to a path.”
Despite the controversies surrounding Simpson’s trial and Kardashian’s involvement in it, it’s commendable that Kardashian shared a heartfelt message of faith with his friend in such a troubling time.
