Selena Gomez Is Leaning on Scripture During Isolation

By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor

Pop superstar Selena Gomez chooses to lean on scripture during this season of isolation.

Gomez told Miley Cyrus on Instagram live, “I read Scripture and poetry and everything and there’s just one line that says, ‘I choose to see the goodness in the land of the Lord,’ for me speaking personally and it’s because we weren’t really prepared for this specifically.”

The verse Gomez referenced comes from Psalm 27:13, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living (NIV).”

Gomez, who has 173 million Instagram followers, also shared in a post that she’s been cooking and listening to worship music by artists like Kari Jobe, Elevation Worship and Lauren Daigle.

The former Disney star also told Cyrus, “This can be a time to be gentle with ourselves like you said, taking breaks from all the noise, even taking breaks from social media for a second and just being outside.”

Gomez continued, “I think that that’s something that’s really important.”

Gomez has shared her awe of Jesus Christ and her Christian faith before.

In October 2019, Gomez highlighted her gratitude for the King of kings.

Gomez recently released her latest album “Rare” and will launch her beauty line with the same title in the summer of 2020.
