So, um, WE GOT A TV SHOW!!! 😳😱🙌🏻 This has been a fun dream of ours for years and I’m so stoked to finally announce it and start releasing it out into the world today! The first video is the trailer for the show, and swipe right to see a quick preview of episode 1 where I try to teach the kids about the invisible realm of God’s grace and how faith unlocks that for us! Quick background: in February, earlier this year, the team at @yippeetv reached out and were like ‘hey we love your fam, we think you’d be a good fit for a fun family show. We will fly out a whole crew, follow you for a few weeks, and make some magic!’ Alyssa and I obviously said yes! Then, covid 😳 but the team thought it’d be fun to still do a season 1 somehow. And they were like hey you have good enough equipment and we can still put professional production behind it (shoutout @cikproductions) so let’s do a ‘quarantine chronicles’ for season 1. And that’s what this is! It’s called the Bethkes Ordinary Adventures, and every episode is just that. We seek out the adventure in every day life, then try to find one big God truth behind it all (like the example in the trailer about community, where me and Kinsley taste test bread ingredients and realize they are MUCH better when put together 😂). And if you don’t know what @yippeetv is you need to check it out! A new digital streaming platform that has original shows and other content, that you know will be safe and fun and educational for the fam. Check them out and make sure to use code ‘Bethke’ to get first week for free, and 25% off first 3 months so it ends up being only like 5 bucks a month. Pro tip: our kids love ‘Yonas gets a job’ it’s like Dirty Jobs but a kid goes and lives an adult job for a day 😂 Anyways, I also put link in my profile to checkout our show and yippee some more. WE ARE SO STOKED! Can’t wait to hear what you guys think!

What if this whole crisis is giving us an opportunity to have our hearts return home? I don’t just mean return home in the obvious sense, but as a metaphor for the true place of belonging. We are created to belong. To have a space and place where we wake up every single day and are known, seen, heard, and loved. And sometimes that’s found in a real home or family or roommate or marriage. And sometimes that’s a metaphor for Jesus. That he is where our heart can return home. Where we can return to Him, what we are created for, and also return to even ourselves in a strange way. To return to that space and place we felt earlier in our life of truth. Our truest self, that isn’t found in the weird world axiom of ‘going and finding yourself’ or ‘whatever you say goes’ but in the reflection of Jesus. We find our true self when we find Him, as the creator knows the proper place and identity and calling of the creation more than anyone. This is at least the convo Alyssa and I had on the podcast this week. Have you given it a listen yet? Would love to hear your thoughts below and what struck you or stood out or made you think. One of my favorite conversations we’ve had on the podcast in awhile! Also, the fact I got to rant about my hot take on feet for the first 3 minutes gave me lots of joy 😂 who’s with me btw on the feet thing?!? PS it’s also six months overdue but we officially brought the podcast back to video via my fb page and the Real Life Podcast youtube channel! Anyone tune in there or order audio instead? #thereallifepodcast
