This Christian Influencer Points to God’s Love in Answered Prayers

Christian influencer Lindsey Gurk is reminding her followers of “God’s love and kindness” as she reflects on the prayers He answered in her life.

“When I look at these pictures it’s like I’m looking at the last 18 years of my life and all the prayers that took place during that time,” she captioned a picture of her family. “I prayed for a husband to love. God blessed me with a husband who isn’t afraid of my ebbs and flows, but loves how I move like water. And I love how he stands firm like a rock. Together, we prayed for a child. God blessed us with a son and gave him a heart filled with gratitude and gentleness as well as a creative mind that loves to ask questions and learn.”

Gurk continued, “We prayed for our family to grow. God blessed us with a daughter and gave her a helping heart and a determination that encourages us all to be strong and courageous.”

The influencer shared that she prayed for “a life that would allow for me to be of use to others and to be a present and playful mother,” and God answered by giving her a social media following that allows her to balance work and parenting.

“I prayed for peace, and God showed me that HE is my peace while I was laying right here in this very yard, a day I will never forget,” Gurk continued. “And in that moment just a few years back my prayers started to shift. I realized every blessing, gift… heck all of creation points to his love and grace.”

She concluded, “I share these things not to say I deserved any of it (I don’t) but to point to God’s love and kindness. His love is all I really ever needed in the first place. So now I pray with gratitude and for guidance on how to love more like Jesus. I hope you feel an abundance of that love today.”

Gurk previously spoke about her faith on Sadie Robertson Huff’s WHOA THAT’S GOOD podcast.

“My faith journey as well started in 2020 when my daughter was born because I knew I couldn’t do it alone and I needed help, and he was my help,” Gurk explained, adding that, while she was raised Christian, she didn’t truly turn to God until her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

She continued, “I did not know what trusting in Jesus looked like. I did not know that I could have the relationship that I have with Him. I didn’t know that He wanted to hear from me all the time.”

Gurk has continued to be a vocal supporter of those with ovarian cancer, even releasing a t-shirt and donating proceeds to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.

“Thanks to this community, families struggling with Ovarian Cancer were able to get a little more help in the areas they shouldn’t have to worry about so they can spend more time with their loved ones,” she posted on Instagram.

Gurk’s recent post is an encouragement to followers who might need a reminder that God is always watching over them.
