What You Need To Know:

A RING FOR CHRISTMAS is a heartfelt Christmas movie on UPtv. Angie has it all. She lives in the Big Apple, is a smart businesswoman and shops for designer brands. One day, however, her mother, a small-town mayor, cuts her off financially. There’s a bit of a loophole to Angie’s predicament, though. Her parents set up a trust fund that will provide Angie with a large sum of money, provided she marries someone if her parents approve. Angie returns to her hometown just in time for the holidays, but will she find a ring?

A RING FOR CHRISTMAS functions like a typical Christmas TV movie. The protagonist comes home to her small town, finds love and enjoys time with her estranged family. A RING FOR CHRISTMAS has a mixed Romantic and moral worldview. There’s a heavy emphasis on personal happiness and personal expression. The movie also stresses, however, the value of marrying for the right reasons, telling the truth and family. Aside from this, A RING FOR CHRISTMAS has four light profanities and some social drinking. Consequently, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children.

More Detail:

Angie has it all. She lives in the Big Apple, is a smart businesswoman and often goes shopping for designer brands. One day, however, her mother, a small-town mayor, cuts her off financially. There’s a bit of a loophole to Angie’s predicament, though. Her parents set up a trust fund that will provide Angie with a large sum of money, provided she marries someone with her parents approval.

Angie returns home to her town, Greenwood, just in time for the holidays. Once she’s back, she encounters her high school crush, Tyler. He’s a bit arrogant, but Angie doesn’t seem to care because she’s a woman on a mission: marry or go broke.

Greenwood seems to be the same old place she left years ago to pursue a life outside a small town, but Angie didn’t expect to rekindle a friendship with Gabe, another fellow high school classmate of hers. Gabe works in town at the local dinner, which is struggling until Angie helps get his finances in order.

Unknown to Angie, her best friend from New York City calls Tyler and tells him about Angie’s marriage predicament. She’s angry at first, but then, Tyler says he’d be glad to marry her! Now, the pair are engaged, but where does that leave Gabe?

A RING FOR CHRISTMAS is a heartfelt and somewhat satisfying movie, but it functions like a typical TV Christmas movie. The protagonist comes home to her small town, finds love and enjoys time with her estranged family. The soundtrack mimics the character’s actions too. However, for all its good qualities, the sound sometimes is a bit amateurish.

A RING FOR CHRISTMAS has a mixed Romantic and moral worldview. The movie has a heavy emphasis on personal happiness and personal expression, including acknowledging who you are in your “heart.” However, the movie also stresses the value of marrying for the right reasons, telling the truth, investing in one’s community, and making family a priority. Aside from this, A RING FOR CHRISTMAS has four light profanities and some social drinking. Consequently, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children.
