What You Need To Know:

THE DATING LIST is a lighthearted romantic comedy on UPtv. Abbey, an aspiring editor, is unexpectedly hired by a major publisher. Instead of a junior editor position, however, she’s tasked with a special assignment from her new, uptight boss, Susan. Susan asks Abbey to screen men for Susan to date. Susan offers Abbey a chance at an editor position if she can find the perfect man. Abby rejects hundreds of names who don’t meet Susan’s criteria before finally settling on Dan. With the future of her career in the balance, will Abbey sacrifice her career in the name of true love?

THE DATING LIST is a funny, uplifting romantic comedy. It has many positive moral, redemptive elements like honesty, kindness and sacrificial love. There are multiple scenes where people drink at social events, but there is no drunkenness. THE DATING LIST is a lighthearted romantic comedy on UPtv about a young aspiring editor who’s caught between the career opportunity of a lifetime and someone who could be her true love. THE DATING LIST is funny and uplifting, with a strong moral worldview stressing honesty, kindness, sacrifice, and forgiveness, which lead to love.

The movie opens as Abbey Morel is on her way to a possible job opportunity. While ordering lunch, she has an awkward interaction with a man named Dan. Abbey forgets about him, because she has an interview with a major publisher. Regrettably, without a reference, her dream of being a junior editor is snuffed out by Susan, a high-flying boss at the publisher.

That night, Abbey realizes she must have swapped her work with Dan’s work in the restaurant mix-up. That night, she decides to read the book she now has from Dan.

The next morning, Abbey discovers that Dan’s friend wrote the book. She hands an edited version back to Dan and suddenly receives a call from the publisher who turned her away. After rushing into Susan’s office, she’s elated to be offered a job. However, there is a catch. Susan employs Abbey as a temp to research possible men for her to date.

Although disappointed, Abbey agrees and uses the opportunity to impress Susan. Susan agrees that, if Abbey successfully completes her job, she will give her a second chance at a junior editor.

After narrowing down Susan’s list, Abbey is out of ideas. Then inspiration strikes. She remembers Dan’s friend’s book and starts to hang out with Dan to help pitch the story and possibly earn a position at the publisher. In the process, Abbey realizes that Dan checks all of the boxes on Susan’s list. However, as Abbey tries to set her boss up with Dan, she begins to fall in love with him herself.

Abbey is now at a fork in the road. Will she sacrifice all her hard work and dreams as a junior editor to be with the love of her life?
