Kelsey Grammer on FRASIER Reboot: ‘The Final Script Looks Pretty Good. I Cried…I’m Happy’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Kelsey Grammer recently updated FRASIER fans on the upcoming reboot, and it sounds like it has the Dr. Frasier Crane seal of approval!

“We’re in the final stages of the final script for the first episode of FRASIER, and it looks pretty good,” he said while appearing on THE TALK. “I’ve had a couple of runs through it, and I cried, so you know, I’m happy.”

He then joked about the key ingredient to the show: “Frasier. Honestly, it was always called that, so it’s me. The key is me or I am the key.”

Production on the FRASIER reboot is expected to start this fall.

“There have been some conversations about [starting in] maybe October, maybe a little later,” Grammer explained. “There are a couple of other things coming up. We’ve developed a couple of other projects that look like they are going to shoot first.”

This isn’t the only exciting project Grammer has coming up.

Movieguide® previously reported on his role in JESUS REVOLUTION:

Greg Laurie has shared a new set photo of himself and Kelsey Grammer as they continue work on the upcoming movie JESUS REVOLUTION.

“@mrkelseygrammer is doing such an amazing job playing the role of Pastor Chuck Smith!” Laurie captioned his Instagram post. “There is one scene where Kelsey (As Chuck) hears the Christian band LoveSong play for the first time. (Remember this is before Contemporary Christian music existed) Without saying a word, his reaction is priceless. At first he is resistant to it, then a slight smile, he represses it, then a full smile, then tears! And when he speaks, he embodies that warmth and authority that Pastor Chuck had.”

“ALL this cast is so talented and this movie will take you back in time to a spiritual awakening,” he continued. “I can’t wait for you all to see it! It comes out next year.”

The movie, based on Laurie’s book of the same name, also stars actors like Jonathan Roumie, Joel Courtney, and Anna Grace Barlow.
