Guy Fieri Says ‘Family Is Always The First Priority’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Famous TV chef Guy Fieri recently revealed his commitment to family, as well as how he has raised his sons to be self-sufficient and care for others.

In a new interview with People, Fieri spoke about the things he achieved in his long career and his personal life.

Reflecting on his fame, Fieri said, “Most of my friends will [say] I haven’t changed. I think it’s because when I got into television, I’d already done what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a great dad. Family is always the first priority.”

The chef also talked about how he kept his sons grounded.

“You know what Ryder drove to school [when] he got his license? He got my parents’ old, used 259,000-mile Chrysler minivan,” he shared. “I want the boys to be self-sufficient.”

“[Dad’s] always leading by example,” son Hunter said. “Seeing how much he cares and how, even though he is so busy all the time, he focuses a lot of effort on doing fundraisers . . . it’s eye-opening to me.”

In addition to his work with the Food Network and raising his sons, Fieri is also a devoted humanitarian. Most recently, the chef raised $25 million to help struggling hospitality workers who were losing money during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“If you’re the guy that owns the shovel, why wouldn’t you help dig the hole?” Fieri explained. “I want to make a positive impact. When it’s all over, I just hope people say, ‘Guy was good for mankind. Guy helped.’ “
