Nate Bargatze just shared his comedy secrets, from who always makes him laugh to the best piece of comedy advice he’s ever received.

“Who never fails to make me laugh? My daughter,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “My daughter is very funny and she’s always trying to make us laugh, and she does a very good job of it.”

Bargatze also revealed that Jerry Seinfeld, a fellow clean comedian, was a big inspiration to him as a young comic, explaining, “He was so good at placing words. It was all exact, and he knew what to say.”

“You see younger comics that are really funny,” the comedian added, pointing to them as current influences. “They keep you on your toes because you just see someone younger than you and newer to comedy and they destroy and it gets you, like, panicky…like, ‘oh, my gosh, this guy’s already better than me.’”

The stand-up comic then shared the best piece of advice he’s gotten as a comedian.

“I did a late night set…and then I was like, ‘Oh, I gotta come up with another five minutes for another late night set, and [fellow comedian Dave Attell] was like, ‘Do you? You gotta write a couple more jokes?’”

Bargatze added, “And that was some of the best advice I got, because it was just — he was like, ‘That’s what you do. That’s your job.’”

“I was glad I got told that very early,” he said, joking. “Like, grow up.”

Bargatze is currently one of the biggest stand-up acts today, selling out arenas and entering other areas of the entertainment industry. He’s currently working on his feature acting debut, THE BREADWINNER, which he also wrote.

His Nateland company is also hard at work on several “experiences” for fans, from cruises to theme parks.

“We’ve been in early discussions with some wealthy families and some governors of a couple of other states to do a Nateland-themed something, almost like a mini park,” Nateland CEO Felix Verdigets told THR.

The comedian is also currently on his “Big Dumb Eyes” world tour. He just performed three sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden.

“Thank you, New York!” Bargatze posted on Instagram. “I started out in clubs here, and this past weekend I got to do three sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden with my dad @stephenbargatze and my good friends @jimmyfallon and @julianmccullough. Truly unforgettable. Thank you for all the love and support.”

From sold-out shows and movies to theme parks and cruises, it looks like Bargatze had reached the top of the comedy world.
