HER BEST MOVE

“Kick Your Life in a New Direction”

What You Need To Know:

HER BEST MOVE is a 2007 movie that features 15-year-old Sara as she struggles between her everyday life and her goal of getting on the U.S national soccer team. Raised from a young age to play soccer, she spends every day practicing and growing her skills to try and make it to the national championship in Florida. The production quality of HER BEST MOVE is lacking, as the movie doesn’t flow well. The script contains poor writing, with cheesy dialogue, and presents random scenes that don’t advance the story. Abrupt transitions also don’t help the flow. However, the movie effectively fulfills its goal with a compelling story arc that provides a clear view of the characters’ development and growth.

HER BEST MOVE contains moral worldview elements of teamwork and reconciliation. The soccer teammates work together to train and compete against their opponents. Reconciliation is evident in both Sara’s family and friends. However, the movie doesn’t begin with those morals; the characters grow into them, starting with selfish and arrogant soccer players who only look out for their own interests. Sarah’s family demonstrate the same characteristics. Due to mild profanity throughout the movie and an unnecessary reference to male anatomy, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.
