More Detail:

HELLRAISER IV: BLOODLINE documents several generations of a family who have the physical gift of creating structures that will summon (& subsequently) destroy demons. They are the toy maker Merchant family. HELLRAISER IV: BLOODLINE starts out with a futuristic Merchant descendant on a space station he designed, summoning the notorious Pinhead. Though successful, his plans to summon and then destroy the demons are thwarted when a rescue team arrives and detains Merchant whom they suspect of going insane. Held for questioning on the station by a pretty examiner named Rimmer, Merchant tells her the story of his family’s involvement with the key to bringing the demons to this earth. Meanwhile, Rimmer’s team is being mangled by Pinhead and his minions. The final showdown of the picture involves a confrontation between Merchant and Pinhead and Merchant’s attempt to escape the space station with Rimmer.

Though exhibiting stunning special effects including a spectacular space station, HELLRAISER IV: BLOODLINE exchanges clever writing and plot devices for gross-out scenes and all too blatant dialogue. This movie also fails to place Hell in its proper historical and spiritual context. Therefore, this movie is merely a showcase for gore and various methods of death.
