Chris Pratt Thankful for Support of Father-In-Law Arnold Schwarzenegger: ‘Means A Lot’

By Movieguide® Contributor

People all over the world are praising GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3, but for star Chris Pratt, the support of his father-in-law and fellow actor Arnold Schwarzenegger is all he needs.

Pratt married Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine in 2019. The couple share two daughters, Lyla and Eloise, as well as son Jack, from Pratt’s previous marriage.

“Arnold’s support means the world to me on a couple different levels. Just being his son-in-law and being part of his family, it obviously means a lot to have his support,” Pratt shared. “But then on another level, just being somebody who grew up loving his movies, the big action hero – I dreamed of being COMMANDO and dreamed of being the soldier from PREDATOR, and I loved TERMINATOR.”

He continued, “So for him to give me kudos for going out and being on the marquee is really kind of mind-blowing.”

Schwarzenegger took to Twitter to praise GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3, writing that Pratt “crushed it” and that he was “very, very proud” of his son-in-law.

Family is very important to Pratt. Movieguide® previously reported on his desire to have a large family with Katherine:

Actor Chris Pratt will add to his resume of Hollywood blockbusters with the movie THE TOMORROW WAR, but the ONWARD actor revealed to E! News that he is even more excited to add another child to the family with his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger.

Pratt, 42, and Schwarzenegger welcomed their first child, daughter Lyla Maria, last summer. The outspoken Christian and conservative is ready to grow his family.

“We’ll do it. I’ll probably have to talk to Katherine about that but my plan is, let’s go,” Pratt said

Pratt also shares an 8-year-old son, Jack, with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.

“I think having a second child really emphasizes what was unique about your first child because when you have one kid, you just take for granted all their growth and development. You just assume all children are that way,” Pratt said.

“The high common denominator is just kind of this unquenchable desire to want to be close to them, be next to them, to protect them and love them. It’s the best,” he added.

Pratt also noted that he and his wife have “a family party” planned to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday in August.

“The people who will be at the family party I see all the time so we’re just gonna celebrate [Lyla],” the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY ACTOR continued, joking: “It’ll be more about us than her because she’s not gonna really know what’s going on at 1 years old, but we’ll make it about her mom.”
