Trevor Donovan Debuts Original Song in New GAF Movie

By Movieguide® Contributor

Actor Trevor Donovan debuts an original song in his upcoming Great American Family movie, A HARVEST HOMECOMING.

Donovan wrote the song “Fields of Gold” specifically for the movie.

“In A HARVEST HOMECOMING, teacher Drew Clark (Trevor Donovan) accepts a temporary substitute job in his old hometown of Chestnut Hollow, Texas, where he meets Aiden, the proverbial new kid at school, desperate for a caring friend,” a synopsis of the movie reads.

“While he would rather have taken a job anywhere else, Drew reconsiders Chestnut Hollow when he meets Lainie Abbott (Jessica Lowndes), the new manager of his parents’ massive apple orchard and cider mill business, and more importantly, Aiden’s mom,” it concludes.

Donovan stars alongside Jessica Lowndes, his former co-star on the hit TV series 90210.

“Lowndes, 34, played Adrianna Tate-Duncan on the teen drama series throughout all five seasons—which aired from 2008 to 2013—while Donovan joined the cast as Teddy Montgomery beginning in 2009,” US Weekly reported.

After their finding fame on 90210, the pair landed on the Great American Family network.

In a recent Instagram post, Donovan shared a collection of photos from the set of A HARVEST HOMECOMING.

Although he didn’t provide a caption on the post, his followers had much to say.

“Gosh brings back 90210 chills when I saw this pic! Adrianna and Teddy,” one fan wrote.

“Best of luck with your new movie A HARVEST HOMECOMING Trevor. I am sure it will be very special and beautiful. God bless,” another follower commented.

Last year, Donovan spent a lot of time on season 31 of DANCING WITH THE STARS.

His partner, Emma Slater, led him through most of the season, where the duo would finish in sixth place.

The actor shared that he hadn’t danced before DWTS.

“This is happening… ugh! 🤪 Never danced a day in my life till tonight on @dancingwiththestars,” Donovan wrote on Instagram.

In another post, Donovan thanked his partner for helping him overcome his fears.

The actor wrote, “Fear is 100% dependent on you for its survival. Here’s to facing fears…and the amazing partner helping me.”

A HARVEST HOMECOMING will premiere this Saturday, September 30, at 8 p.m. ET on the Great American Family Network.

Movieguide® recently reported:

Trevor Donovan, known for his work in JINGLE BELL PRINCESS, will join Great American Family for two more movies.

Deadline reports that one movie will be a rom-com. Donovan will star as a teacher moving back to his Texas hometown, and viewers can expect that love will likely find him.

Slated for this fall, the movie will also feature Donovan’s dance skills from his time on DANCING WITH THE STARS and showcase “GAC’s collaboration with his real-life anti-bullying initiative, Upstanders, which is dedicated to creating a support system for students based on treating others with empathy, kindness, and respect.”

After his success in JINGLE BELL PRINCESS, Donovan will also star in another Christmas movie, planned to hit the network’s Great American Christmas in 2023.
