HOUSE OF DAVID star Michael Iskander and actor Mario Lopez team up for a new Hallow meditation on Jesus’ birth as we continue through the Christmas season.

“Today, @mickoola and @mariolopez will lead us in meditation on the title of Jesus, ‘Lord of Might,’” an Instagram post from Hallow announced. “This beautiful reflection will help us to understand how God’s mightiness is expressed in a little baby, and how we might come to share in His might.”

The post also includes Philippians 2:7-11 — “He emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Iskander also joined Lopez and Christian singer Lauren Daigle for Hallow’s “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” prayer challenge.

“This challenge was so special to me as I was able to record my own version of this incredibly powerful hymn,” the actor wrote in an Instagram post. “As we wait for the coming of our Savior in just a few days, join us in praying and meditating on His word.”

The HOUSE OF DAVID actor recently converted to Catholicism from Coptic Orthodox, which he described as “answering a calling from God.”

Iskander told the Catholic News Agency a visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan was what inspired his conversion.

“I looked at the altar knowing that’s where the Eucharist lies and I’m like, ‘I want the Eucharist.’ And I remember feeling this moment of extreme holiness,” he shared. “I was like, ‘This is where the Eucharist is.’ And I put my head down and I started weeping for an hour straight — not praying, nothing, just weeping. And it felt like nobody else was there except for me and God.”

His strong faith influences his performance as David in HOUSE OF DAVID.

“I inform everything about David from Scripture and looking at not only his great moments but his tough moments,” Iskander said. “The more you keep reading about him, the more the more we understand David; the more we ponder about the actions that he took, the more we understand his heart. He truly was a man who loved God with every part of his being. And just like all of us, we fall and we falter, but David is one who came back and recognized his mistakes and recognized his sins in front of God and asked for forgiveness and repented.”

Iskander’s partnership with Hallow is an excellent way to connect with the Christmas story this season.
