SHAZAM! star Zachary Levi is set to star in the upcoming TEDDY’S CHRISTMAS for its U.S. release.

The Norwegian movie “centers on an 8-year-old girl who pursues an adventurous living teddy bear, mixes live-action and CGI animation,” Deadline reports.

“While visiting a Christmas market, Mariann suddenly sees an unbelievable sight: on the top shelf of a carnival game booth, the most adorable stuffed teddy bear has just moved his head and sneezed,” the description continued. “Feeling an instant connection, Mariann can’t think of any better Christmas wish than to win him as a prize. But when someone else wins Teddy, it’s up to Teddy and his new hedgehog friend Bolla to reconnect with Mariann and discover the true importance of family and friendship.”

Solveig Langeland, the managing director of Sola Media, which is handling the worldwide rights to the movie, said they are “more than thrilled to have Zachary Levi on board to bring our Teddy to life on the big screens in North America!”

“His great talent and unique voice make him the perfect choice,” she added

Capelight Pictures SVP of North American Distribution Drew Goldblatt echoed those sentiments, saying, “This is the kind of magical family holiday film that warms the hearts of young and old, and we are thrilled to bring it to American audiences, who we know are going to love Zachary Levi as Teddy.”

TEDDY’S CHRISTMAS originally opened in Norway in November of 2022, “rolling out across multiple European territories to an international box-office take of $5.7 million,” according to Animation Magazine.

Levi previously starred in the Christmas movie THE STAR. A portion of the Movieguide® reads:

THE STAR is tremendous fun, with wonderful lessons along the way. A touching story from a unique perspective, THE STAR sets itself apart from many of the other nativity movies. Obviously, the movie condenses and shifts a few incidents found in the Bible, but never sacrifices a very strong biblical Christian theology. However, the movie deftly balances the goofy fun of the animals with a deeply redemptive reverence for God and the birth of Jesus Christ. Overall, THE STAR is almost void of objectionable content. It’s a must-see Christmas movie for everyone.
