The Marrs family has been through an emotional and difficult time recently, but is finding ways to heal together. Dave Marrs’ mom, Donna, recently passed away after a battle with dementia, leaving her family heartbroken over her loss. In a post to Instagram, Jenny Marrs shared how the family is resting together after a difficult season.
In an heartfelt Instagram post, Marrs shared that the family is resting together after a difficult season along with a group photo of the extended family posing on the beach.
“After one of the most emotional months of my life, God knew I needed to be right here this weekend,” she began. “Surrounded by love and laughter and the squeals of cousins who are reunited again. We planned the weekend away for the kids’ fall break, but I had no idea how much my heart would need this at this exact moment. So, so grateful. 🤍”

In a post last month, Dave Marrs announced the death of his mother.
“I’ve been dreading having to make this post. It seems like once I write it, everything becomes real. Set in stone. Unchangeable. My mom, Donna Marrs, has lost her fight with dementia, but is now singing and dancing with angels,” he said in the post.

The loss in the family has also burdened them with hard nights of grief, affecting their sleep. In another post, Marrs shared, “I haven’t slept well the last two weeks. Grief seeps in at night most acutely, once I slow down from the day’s activity. Each day is a disorienting experience- life continues to move forward as I am simply trying to reconcile my deep heartache with the sunshine out the window and the pressing demands on my time.”

Country Living recently interviewed Marrs about her new book “Trust God, Love People.”
“There are days when it really is just pure chaos, and I’ll pray, ‘Lord, just show me where you need me today,’ she told the outlet. “It’s just that I was actually listening when I was being prompted to do something. So I think in the midst of the ordinary days, identifying ways that you can pause and try to be compassionate can be very significant.”
Marrs also noted that hard seasons do not last forever. “Even if you’re not in a hard season right now, those seasons are still going to come. That’s just the reality of life,’ she said. “But if you can create this act of remembering not just happy times, but the faithfulness of God that you’ve seen in your life, then when you’re in those harder, darker moments, you can look back and say, ‘I’ve been here before, and God proved faithful.’”
