HGTV’s FIXER TO FABULOUS’ Marrs family needs prayer right now following the death of Dave Marrs’ mother, Donna.
“I’ve been dreading having to make this post. It seems like once I write it, everything becomes real. Set it stone. Unchangeable,” Dave shared on Instagram alongside a photo reel of his mom. “My mom, Donna Marrs, has lost her fight with dementia, but is now singing and dancing with angels.”
He shared that he is trying to find comfort in Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
He continued, “I also feel blessed. Blessed that our entire immediate family was able to be together and say goodbye, something I know Mom would have loved. Blessed that my children had a great relationship with their Nana. Blessed that I had such a role model, as her, with me for 46 years. Blessed that we still have such an incredible Papa in my Dad.”
Dave then honored his mom by quoting 2 Timothy 4:7-8 which says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day — and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
He concluded, “Mom, you have fought the good fight. Rest and know you have a family, friends and a son that dearly miss you. I love you! I know you will never stop watching over us all!”
In the comment section, Dave’s wife, Jenny, added “She was the brightest light. Our world her will never be the same. I’m so thankful for the promise of eternity.”
Jenny posted a tribute to Donna on her Instagram page as well, sharing how her mother-in-law inspires her.
“I hope I can live out my life in the steps of my beloved Mother-in-law, Donna. She taught me how to live and love well. She taught me how to be the kind of mother-in-law and the kind of grandmother who I can’t even begin to imagine this earth without,” she wrote.
“Well done, Donna. Well done. You never wavered in your love or your faith,” Jenny continued. “We don’t know how to move forward here without you but I promise we will try our best. We will hold tight to the hope set before us. We love you so so so so so so much. No words will ever be enough.”
The death of a family member is never easy. Please keep the Marrs family in your prayers.
