Former Pop Star Shares Abortion Regrets: ‘None Of It Will Bring My Children Back’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Former Pussycat Dolls star Kaya Jones recently shared the regrets she has surrounding multiple abortions she had after being pressured by people in the music industry.

“I come from an industry that promotes abortion,” Jones said during a Walk For Life event in San Francisco. “If you want to have a baby and you want to be a recording artist and successful, they encourage that you abort.”

Jones continued, “I have a Grammy, but none of it will bring my children back.”

The former pop star shared that she had her first abortion at 16, saying, “I felt like as though someone had took something that had always belonged in my body. I remember waking up and feeling like someone took my rib or my kidney, and it was never going to come back … I don’t know the death date of my first child, and I will never know the birth date. There’s no grave I can go to, to mourn the death.”

Jones became pregnant again at 19 during the beginning of her time with the Pussycat Dolls and was told to “get rid of it.”

She previously spoke about her abortions, saying, “You’re fired if you’re pregnant…the powers that be [can] do that.”

Everything changed for the singer when she saw two little girls in the crowd at a concert and realized she was modeling inappropriate behavior for young people.

“At that moment, I was going through an abortion,” she told Billboard. “I’m losing my child in real time. Nothing on me in that moment said, ‘Caution: this is a lie.’ And I was a lie in that moment. There was nothing beautiful about me. I was tainted. I was living in my worst self.”

Jones added, “Do you ever get over it? Never. It is something that you will live with for the rest of your life.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Jones’ pro-life advocacy:

Kaya Jones, former member of girl group The Pussycat Dolls, recently opened up about her past abortions and her regrets surrounding those decisions.

The former girl band star now wants to impress upon young women how “damaging” abortions are.

“You will regret it your whole life,” she said. “Even if I become a mother tomorrow and am happily married and all is well, I’m still going to regret the three children I did not have.”
