Candace Cameron Bure Prays for Hollywood During Movieguide® Awards

Candace Cameron Bure closed the 31st annual Movieguide® Award Gala by praying for Hollywood to know the Lord.

“Lord, we come before you, and we are so grateful that we are able to gather together in this room. Lord, my prayer for today is that all the people in this room would be bold for you, that they would continue to be bold in their scripts and their writing and producing and directing. [That] the fear of man would not be bigger than the fear and awe and reverence of you, Lord,” Bure prayed.

“May every person in this room know who you are. I pray that you would pursue every heart in this room and every heart that is watching this right now, pursue [them] relentlessly so that they may know your mercy and love and grace,” she continued.

“We remember that while we’re being honored and giving honor to so many, that there’s no one that deserves higher honor than you because you gave your one and only Son for all of us to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin so that we can be reconciled to you and justified before you on judgment day. We thank you Lord. I pray everyone gets home safe tonight, and I pray in Jesus’ name, amen,” she added.

Movieguide®’s 31st Faith and Family Awards Gala took place on February 9 to honor movies, television and streaming content that promote positive interactions, strong morals and biblical teachings.

This year’s awards were hosted by Danica McKellar and Trevor Donovan and aired on Great American Family, a network devoted to family content and strong morals.

“Movieguide® showcases and rewards content that uplifts, inspires, and encourages us all to be the best that we can be,” said Bill Abbot, President and CEO of Great American Media. “We are grateful to Ted and Robby and the entire Movieguide® organization for remarkably positive contributions to our culture, and we celebrate our mutual commitment to content the entire family can watch together.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the Gala:

The star-studded event was hosted by Great American Family’s Trevor Donovan and Danica McKellar who shared the stage with fellow actors and filmmakers, including Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, Cameron Mathison, Matthew Morrison, Jen Lilley, Eric Close, Jack Wagner, Corbin Bernsen, Pat Boone, Donna Mills, Mike Rowe, Jesse Hutch, and many more.

“I didn’t ever see this happening…I love making movies, I’m really blessed to do what I love, so thank you.” shared Lori Loughlin as she received the Grace Prize for TV Performance for her role in “A Christmas Blessing.

The unforgettable evening included a captivating musical performance by Dennis Quaid, kicked off by calling his good friend and actor Kris Kristofferson on the phone:

“I am singing two songs for you tonight that they both have to do with Kris Kristofferson, who was the biggest box office star in 1974, 1975, and 1976, and I thought before I do this song I thought we could all call him,” as Quaid proceeded, he had the audience join him in saying ‘We love you Kris!’”
