How a Panic Attack Strengthened Lola Sheen’s Faith: ‘God’s Power Worked’

Lola Sheen, daughter of Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards, recently shared how a “very bad panic attack” drew her closer to Jesus.
“I got to see how God’s power worked so much in my weakest moment,” she said during an episode of her podcast, “HeavenlyBonded.”
Sheen recalled a work trip to New York, where she was busy doing press appearances, “and I think I didn’t make enough time to pray and to…let God fill my mind with His truth.”
“I wasn’t reminding myself of God’s truth and filling my mind in anxious moments with God instead of believing these lies that aren’t from God,” she shared, adding that she began to be filled with self-doubt and insecurity.
Sheen began having a panic attack and called her “sisters in Christ” and began to feel “the presence of God” and the “peace of Jesus.”
“Basically, what we did is we went through every single lie I was believing in that moment, and I repented against the lie, and I came out of agreement with what the enemy was telling me,” Sheen recalled, sharing that her friends began replacing “every lie I was believing with Scripture.”
She continued, “There was a moment where the peace of God literally…washed over my mind. It felt like Jesus put His hand on me, and instantly, every single feeling I felt was gone. It left. It literally was gone instantly. The second I start speaking Scripture over myself, the second I start replacing every single lie from the enemy with God’s truth, the power of God that I experienced was unexplainable.”
“The only way I was OK again was because of Jesus,” Sheen said. “The only strength that I have is from Jesus, [and] when God shows me that I really cannot rely on my own strength in my weakest moment, I get to see the power of Christ.”
She concluded, “If I didn’t go through that, I wouldn’t have seen the way that God worked in that moment as much as I did.”

Sheen has been sharing her faith journey on her social media. She posted photos of her baptism in January, along with her testimony.
“Jesus saved me from battling severe anxiety, and gave me a peace that makes no sense. I now find myself laughing again, in places I only had cried,” she wrote. “Jesus fulfilled His promise of making me new, and completely renewed my mind. Jesus is the only reason why I’m here today and made my life worth living. I chose to get baptized at the beginning of this year, because I made it through this year only by the strength of Jesus, and I am so happy to go into this next year, after publicly declaring Jesus as my Savior. I am forever saved by His Grace, through faith.”

In the first episode of “HeavenlyBonded,” Sheen shared more of her testimony.
“I can’t explain it other than it was actually supernatural. But I remember one night I was lying in my bed…I was lying in my bed, and I felt Jesus come in[to] my room, and I felt Him hold my hand and say, ‘Try this again with me,’ and I can’t explain this, but it felt like He told me, ‘I’m here to rescue you. I’m here to save you tonight. You are going to be okay,’” Sheen said. “And He rescued me. He carried me through the darkest valley, and He saved my life that night. And Jesus, He fully became my refuge that night I met Him.”
