Candace Cameron Bure is reminding us that kindness is “not a natural quality,” but one we must cultivate to be good ambassadors of Christ.
“Kindness has to be learned because we are sinful beings by nature, and we have to be taught to be kind,” she said on an episode of “Takeaways with Kirk Cameron.” “It is not a natural quality that, as human beings, we have. I think that’s why it’s so challenging. We have to learn it. We have to apply it. It becomes an action. We have to be mindful of it.”
The actress acknowledged that it can be “easier to let the emotions and the anger and some of those other unhappier emotions just get the best of you,” but focusing on kindness “means you do have to stop and think about it, because it’s not the natural instinct.”
“And then you have to honestly think about — ‘Okay, how should I respond to this? What would Christ want me to do? How can I be the best ambassador or representative of Christ right now in this situation?’” she concluded.
Bure is currently getting ready for a series of exciting new projects, from another Christmas movie to a new installment of one of her most popular franchises.
The actress, who also serves as Chief Creative Officer for Great American Media, announced her latest project for the channel earlier this month — TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY, which pairs her with WHEN CALLS THE HEART actor Paul Greene.
“In a world of technology, TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY harkens back to a simpler time and the core values passed to us by our parents and grandparents,” Bure said in a statement about the movie. “It reminds us that the best gifts we receive are the ones we freely give away.”
Candace Cameron Bure also just announced another exciting upcoming project — a new Ainsley McGregor mystery!
“Viewers loved Candace’s first Ainsley McGregor film, A CASE FOR THE WINEMAKER, and she is ready to dive into even more intrigue and smalltown secrets in A CASE FOR THE YARN MAKER, Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media said in a statement. “In a world of ripped-from-the-headlines, graphic films, THE AINSLEY MCGREGOR MYSTERIES is a collection of stories for mystery lovers who love analyzing every clue and cleverly solving the puzzle.”
Candace Cameron Bure said she is “beyond excited” for the movie’s May 22 premiere, adding, “Expect the stakes to be higher, romance to bloom and a clever ending you’d never expect.”
Bure’s reminder to be mindful about showing kindness to others is a topic she frequently shares, both in her personal life and through her work as an actress.
