“Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond loves being a grandma!
“I got to babysit Sofia in Dallas all weekend (!!) and we dropped by Aunt Paige and Uncle David’s house for a visit,” she recently posted on Instagram. “These are definitely the days!”

Eight-month-old Sofia is the daughter of Drummond’s eldest daughter Alex Drummond Scott and her husband Mauricio Scott. The TV star’s other daughter, Paige Drummond, appears in the video, alongside her husband David Andersen.
Sofia was born in December of 2024. Alex and Mauricio announced the birth on Instagram, writing, “At 2:27am our perfect girl made her arrival a couple weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed. Thank you Lord.”
Drummond posted on her website about the birth, writing, “My heart is exploding with happiness…My daughter just had a daughter. I’m honestly still trying to wrap my head (and heart) around it all.”
“Sofia was born around 2:30 in the morning, and she is perfect. I’m saying that with as much objectivity as I can. But I’m not kidding…she is perfect,” she continued. “Like, if you looked up “perfect” in Merriam-Webster, it would reference Sofia Scott, and maybe even show a photo of her. Although that would probably technically be an encyclopedia.”
Drummond has been posting plenty of pictures and videos with Sofia, but she admitted she wasn’t sure she was ready to become a grandma.
“When your firstborn has a baby that looks exactly like she looked, you get to relive all the delicious feelings of first-time motherhood, but without the sleep deprivation, hormones, and confusion,” she wrote in a March Instagram post.
Drummond continued, “I didn’t think I was ready yet to cross over to the granny side of the street, but Lord in Heaven…I am loving it and I’m so grateful for this gift.”
The Pioneer Woman has been spending tons of time with her first grandchild, including a recent trip to church.
“During church, Sofia was a little fussy,” Drummond wrote in a post for her website. “So of course I gave Alex the look. It’s a simple, plaintive expression that basically conveys ‘Hand that baby to me NOW, I am her grandma and I need her on my lap.’”
She continued, “She was momentarily distracted but started getting fussy again…until we started singing ‘What a Friend We Have in Jesus’…Immediately, Sofia seemed to relax and come along for the ride.”
From spending time together with other family members to taking her to church, it looks like Drummond can’t get enough of her granddaughter!
