Todd Chrisley shared his gratitude at being officially pardoned by President Donald Trump, as well as the first thing the president said to him following his release from prison.
“He was very kind, as I’ve said before, and I’ll say for the rest of my life, I’m grateful to President Trump because President Trump reunited my family,” the CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST star told Fox News. “And regardless of how you feel about leaning left, right, or whatever your political beliefs are, I don’t know of anyone that’s incarcerated that would turn down a pardon from President Trump.”
He continued, “My Joseph moment was getting up that morning and then that afternoon being told, you’ve been pardoned, we’ve got to get you out of here. That’s how quickly your life can change. When I spoke with President Trump via FaceTime, his first thing was, ‘Well, wow, you look great.’ And I was like, ‘Well, thank you.’ But he was very kind and very gracious.”

Chrisley’s daughter Savannah was equally appreciative of Trump’s efforts, saying, “For me, when I spoke to the president for the very first time, I like to tell people I was so shocked because it wasn’t like I was having a conversation with the president. It felt like I was having a conversation with my father. The president was asking me about how I had custody of my brother and sister and how much time my parents got, and he wanted to know the story, and he wanted to know how I was doing.”
She added, “So for that, he made me feel heard. And for that I will forever be grateful for him and Alice Johnson and everyone else who worked on the case and fought for my family.”
While the couple are happy to be pardoned and home with their family, Chrisley admitted there’s been some “adjustment.”
“Coming home to your people, to your surroundings, is always a comforting thing,” he told E! News, “But there is that adjustment period because you went from your whole life doing things one way to the last 28 months having to do someone else’s way.”
The family will be detailing this experience in their upcoming reality show THE CHRISLEYS: BACK TO REALITY.
“The family faces the challenge of carrying on the Chrisley name and legacy on their own with only phone calls and brief visits with their incarcerated parents,” a synopsis of the show reads. “While Savannah maintains custody of her younger siblings, Chloe and Grayson, she has been fighting tirelessly for a Presidential pardon to free her parents. Meanwhile, Chase is addressing some life struggles while building his new business and navigating his relationship with girlfriend Jodi.”
The Chrisleys have been working tirelessly to obtain this presidential pardon since their incarceration. Now, the family can relax and enjoy being together again.
