Leanne Morgan has lots more laughs on the way.
Right on the heels of her book, and her new sitcom LEANNE, the 59-year-old announced a new Netflix special, UNSPEAKABLE THINGS, and a second season of LEANNE.
“I feel relieved and tickled. The audience could not have been any better,” the comedian said of the hour-long special. It premieres on Netflix on Nov. 4. Morgan’s last special, I’M EVERY WOMAN, debuted in 2023.
In fact, Morgan’s LEANNE costar Kristen Johnston raved about it, saying, “I’m not a big stand-up person. And then Chuck Lorre called me, and he was like, ‘Watch her special on Netflix,’ and within five minutes, I was like ‘oh, oh, she’s magic.’ She is so brilliant, and she learned how to do it on the sitcom.”

Morgan couldn’t be more excited for a second season of the sitcom.
“We’re coming back for a second season!” she celebrated. “I am so grateful to all the writers, producers, Netflix, [Warner Bros. TV], our amazing cast and especially for all the fans of the show. Y’all did this for us and we can’t wait to be back.”
Chuck Lorre, who executive-produced and co-created LEANNE, added, “Much thanks and gratitude to Netflix for this amazing opportunity. Congrats to Leanne and the entire cast and crew. This has been an incredible journey that began with a visit to Knoxville, Tennessee. Leanne Morgan is the whole package. A comedic genius, a warm, loving human being, and an absolute joy to work with.”
Morgan’s Instagram fans are thrilled.
“Ok y’all I have some exciting news. We have found out that we are getting season 2 of LEANNE on Netflix and I am so excited,” she posted. And I want to thank every one of you, each and every one of y’all for watching it over and over and telling people about it, y’all did this for me, so thank y’all!”
“You are by far the best new show on Netflix, so happy for this news!” one fan celebrated. Another person added, “This is the best news!!!!!! Your show brings so much joy to the world!!!!!!”
Movieguide® gave LEANNE: Episodes 1.1-1.3 a -1 content score. The review reads, “The episodes include positive Christian references. For instance, Leanne and her sister working a bake sale at their church, Leanne discusses her grandson’s baptism, and the sisters pray together when their mother suffers a fall.”
However, “The first three episodes of LEANNE gave two light obscenities and several light suggestive jokes, Otherwise, there’s no objectionable content. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.”
The clean comedian’s fans certainly have a lot to look forward to!
