Natalie Grant reflected on the special holiday memories that inspired her new album, Christmas.
“Anybody who knows me — my friends, my family — they call me the Christmas queen,” Grant told The Christian Beat. “I love Christmas and I love Christmas music, and part of that is just the core memories attached to it, of growing up with my family.”
Grant shared that she comes from a “very musical family” that enjoyed singing together.
“On Christmas Eve, we all gather around the piano and we start to sing songs and everyone’s got harmonies,” she described. “I actually wish that I could transport you into that room when it’s happening because it is really beautiful.”
She continued, “I think that feeling, that nostalgia, that classic feeling, is really how we went into making this record.”

In addition to holiday classics like “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and “Jingle Bells,” Christmas also features two original songs — “God’s Gift” and “Christmas Looks Good On You.”
Grant announced Christmas in September, along with the news that she had signed to Capitol CMG.
“It’s been 20 years since my last Christmas album, and making another one has been a dream in my heart for so long,” the singer said in a statement. “Christmas is my favorite time of year, and I set out to create something timeless — full of nostalgia, warmth, and a few new songs that could stand beside the classics.”
Grant continued, “I’m beyond excited to be partnering with Capitol CMG for the first time. Their passion and vision for this project made them the perfect home and the timing couldn’t be better. This is a partnership that just makes sense on so many levels, and I’m truly excited about what the future holds together.”
In an Instagram post celebrating the album, Grant wrote, “I pray these songs bring joy, peace, and a whole lot of Christmas spirit into your heart this season. And no matter the season, Christmas looks good on you.”
Grant will also take these new songs on the road during her 10th annual Christmas tour with Danny Gokey, stopping in 12 cities around the country.
“Our very first show this year is at Carnegie Hall in New York…it’s kind of been a dream of ours,” she told TCB. “This is the perfect time, and it feels like a gift to us.”
Grant’s fans can’t wait to celebrate this Christmas season with her new holiday music!
