During a recent episode of “The Dr. Josh Axe Show,” Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow opened up about life as a new dad.
“I think it is so incredible, and it’s such a crazy blessing,” Tebow said of fatherhood on the podcast. “But a lot of people ask, ‘Did you ever know you could have a love like this?’ And I said, ‘Well, I don’t know if that’s been the biggest takeaway, because right since the moment Demi told me she was pregnant, I think I already instantly felt that love — for a baby that I had never met.’ But I do think one of the things that has changed is when we got home from the hospital and I set Daphne, our little girl, down in her bassinet, I’m like, ‘Okay, Demi, what do we do now?'”
The former NFL player realized that having a child comes with a new “level of responsibility.”

“So I start to instantly think not just a few steps ahead, but 10 steps ahead, five years ahead,” the quarterback explained. “And you start to think, ‘Well, this cabinet, this door, this dresser — they all have to be changed because this is a future problem, this is a future issue, this is a future need, this could be a stumbling block.'”
“And so you start to prepare in advance,” Tebow said. “But man, I started to think about that and, to a little extent, was convicted — why don’t we always think that way, not just for our own immediate family but for the hurting and the suffering around the world? Why don’t we have that level of responsibility all the time? Because the way that we view our children is, I believe, the way that God views all of humanity. And yet we take that deeper level of ownership and responsibility for our daughter versus how we should actually have that for the world — for all of humanity.”
Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh welcomed their first child, daughter Daphne Reign, in July.
“Our answered prayer. Daphne Reign Tebow — created in the image of God. Royalty as His princess. Our biggest prayer over her is to reign in God’s purpose for her life,” Demi wrote in a joint Instagram post with her husband alongside sweet photos of their new baby.
Aside from fatherhood, Tebow has been busy writing and promoting his new book, Look Again: .
“This isn’t just another book, it’s a wake-up call,” Tebow described in a post on social media. “A call to see yourself and others the way God does. To face hard stories, wrestle with pain, and still find hope on the other side. When I wrote Look Again, I didn’t want it to be easy; I wanted it to be real. Because real stories matter. Real people matter. And even in the hardest moments, hope still wins.”
“These pages hold tension, truth, and testimony. They’ll challenge you, but I pray they’ll also remind you of your worth and anchor you to the truth that you’re loved, seen, and created for a purpose,” he emphasized. “If you’ve ever felt overlooked, unloved, or unworthy — this book is for you.”
Whether or not we’re a parent, we can learn from Tebow’s journey into fatherhood and seek new ways to serve those who God brings into our path.
