New York Mets Hall of Fame pitcher Darryl Strawberry provided an encouraging update on his wife’s battle with cancer.
Strawberry has shared several posts on Instagram about his wife, Tracy, who has battled cancer since the beginning of summer. In his latest post, he shared that she recovered from different surgeries and is making good progress.
“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us in prayer during this challenging time. The Lord has been incredibly faithful, and we are overjoyed to share that He is healing my wife. This tough journey has only made us stronger and more resilient than ever before,” Strawberry wrote.

“Today marked a special milestone – the first day out of the house in three weeks,” he continued. “My wife chose to visit the Lake House to see the exciting new work underway: A brand new basement and a beautiful front addition that will make the home even more incredible. She’s always thinking about making things better for her family, and it’s inspiring to witness her strength and love in action.”
The Strawberrys have kept their faith in God their priority as Tracy has fought for her life over the last six months.
“My beautiful wife and I are walking through this journey together. As she goes into surgery this morning, I’m on the road, interceding and praying that God’s hands would be all over her in this difficult moment. Please join me in lifting her up in prayer today,” the four-time World Series champion wrote in a post last month.
“This afternoon brought a setback for my wife after so many wonderful good moments following her surgery on Monday. But I sat by her bedside, laid my hands on her, and prayed in the Spirit, trusting God to bring peace and healing. She fell asleep peacefully and woke up feeling much better. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has prayed for her and me during this challenging time. Your support means the world to us!” he shared in another post in early October.
Darryl and Tracy have not disclosed the specific cancer that Tracy is up against, but she is on the road to recovery. As they keep navigating the path forward, the couple will continue to put their hope and faith in Jesus. Pray for Tracy as she works towards full healing.
