Tim Tebow believes that God wants to use us to help others and share the gospel with them.
“God doesn’t need us on His team, but He wants us and invites us to be on His rescue team, to go bring the good news of the gospel and set captives free and love and tell and preach and give and care and pray and all of these things,” the former NFL player said in a video posted to Instagram. “I just never want the gospel to get old, and I [don’t] want to be callous to it, because it is everything, and it changes everything.”
In the caption of the video, Tebow said, “God doesn’t need us…but He invites us. He invites us to be part of His rescue mission — to share the gospel, love people, care for those in need, pray, and point others to Him. It’s overwhelming when you think about it, but also incredible.”
He added, “I never want the gospel to get old or for the cross to feel distant. That’s part of what my new book, If the Tree Could Speak does. It offers a fresh perspective on the cross that helps us see His love in a new way and inspires us to share the story with others.”
If the Tree Could Speak released last month. It “invites you into the story of Jesus’ crucifixion, told from the perspective of the closest thing to Jesus on that day — the wooden cross.”

People in the comment section appreciated Tebow’s message. “Amen … let’s keep the Gift of Light in our hearts,” one person said. Another fan added, “Amen. God bless you for all you are doing to fight evil. We love you. 🙏”
Along with books and social media content, Tebow fights for the most vulnerable through his Tim Tebow Foundation.
“We are called to fight for the world’s Most Vulnerable People through our four main areas of focus – Anti-Human Trafficking & Child Exploitation, Orphan Care & Prevention, Profound Medical Needs, and Special Needs Ministry,” the foundation’s website describes.
Recently, Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh celebrated the foundation’s 15th annual gala, and he has no plans on stopping anytime soon.
“@demitebow and I are so honored to be hosting the 15th Annual @timtebowfoundation Celebrity Gala and Golf Classic,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Every year I walk into this event overwhelmed by the goodness of God and the generosity of the people who show up to fight for the world’s most vulnerable. Because in the fight between light and darkness — we are powerful together.”
Tebow concluded, “Our God is that big. Our mission is that important. The MVP is that precious. Until all are celebrated. Until all are free. Until all are loved.”
Isaiah 61:1 says, “He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” This is what Tebow is doing through his ministry, and we should as well.
