Great American Family actor Casey Elliott reminds us that “God’s way is always going to be better” than ours.
“Something I’ve learned in my life is, sometimes I’ve been going down a certain path, and to me, it all makes sense. It feels good,” he said in a video posted to Great American Family’s Instagram. “It comes together with the plan that I’ve got, and then God directs me in a different way.”
Elliott continued, “At first, it always feels like, ‘No, no, this is not the plan. This is not my plan.’ Of course, eventually, without fail, I always come to realize the wisdom in how God has directed me. If you can relate to that, trust it. Trust that God’s way is always going to be better than whatever way we can think of or invent for ourselves.”

The actor recently appeared in GAF’s BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE and previously starred in the DESTINED FOR CHRISTMAS series and CHRISTMAS WREATHS AND RIBBONS for the network.
Elliott is currently working on BROTHERHOOD: A CINEMATIC MUSICAL, which follows two neighbors as they grapple with concepts like identity, compassion and faith.
“What surprised me was how human the story is,” he told Broadway World. “It isn’t about politics — it’s about seeing people for who they are and learning to love your neighbor.”
Elliott recently posted a clip from the movie’s production to Instagram, writing, “This needed a permanent place on my feed. This is the moment in @brotherhoodmusical where [his character] Jon gives over his will to God. He makes a vow to go to those in need. To not only say he loves his fellow man but to do something about it.”
“He can no longer sit on the sidelines and be the judge of who is worthy of love and who isn’t,” he continued. “He understands for the first time in his life that: ‘Love doesn’t wait, doesn’t fold its hands. It just keeps on giving what love demands. Love’s isn’t madness or weakness or flaw it’s the fountain of life for all. Love’s for the ones that we see right through, ‘cause when we don’t see them you still do. Love’s for the sparrows, the lilies, the lambs, and you feed them like no one can.’”
Elliot finished, “He doesn’t know what he can do to help, but he commits to show up. To be there when needed. To break down the barriers that have made ‘others’ out of people who are different than him. He sees that we are all ‘so much the same!’”
BROTHERHOOD: A CINEMATIC MUSICAL is expected to premiere some time this fall.
