New York Knicks center Trey Jemison is “grateful for every moment.”

A post to Instagram started with a selfie video before Jemison flipped the camera to show an empty Madison Square Garden, the home court of the Knicks.

“So blessed ⚡️,” he wrote in the caption, adding, “grateful 4 [sic] every moment” over the video.

While Jemison works hard to be a better teammate and athlete, he also uses his platform to proclaim his faith. That includes sharing weekly Bible studies on his social media page.

Matthew 6:11 says, ‘Give us today our daily bread.’ Not weekly bread, not monthly bread, not Sunday bread, but daily bread,” Jemison said in a recent Bible study. “And this is a thing that a lot of Christians kind of skip out on, is that, ‘Hey, I went to church on Sunday, so I’m good. I worship on Thursday, so I’m good.’ But the word says ‘daily.'”

“That means getting to your word, that means finding God each and every day,” he emphasized. “It’s a hard thing. It’s a hard thing to make time, you know, saying sometimes you don’t like reading the Bible. Now you don’t feel like worshiping, but the best thing you can do is make yourself want to do it.”

In another study, Jemison spoke about the importance of forgiveness.

“If I were still holding the knife, I wouldn’t be able to heal, I wouldn’t be able to move on. The blood will continue to flow because what cut me is still in the wound,” he shared. “And this is how we are dealing with unforgiveness in our lives. Not everybody, but a lot of people. I have done this before, and what God’s telling us to do is let go. He won’t take it from us.”

“See, what God has taught me about forgiveness is that forgiveness isn’t about the person. Forgiveness is about yourself. Forgiveness is so that you can heal, so that you can move on,” the center continued. “Yeah, that person did you wrong. That person did you dirty. They forgot all about it, and they kept on going about their day.”

“But you’re holding on to what they said, what they did to you, and instead of moving on and continuing to grow from it, you’re letting that wound sit there and grow even deeper and grow even deeper,” he added. “You’re praying to God, ‘God, I want to forget what they did,’ but you ain’t never let it go.”

Jemison might not see the court much right now as he backs up one of the best centers in NBA history, Karl-Anthony Towns. But regardless of playtime, he is just grateful for each moment.
