Knicks player Trey Jemison has an inspirational message for followers as he dives into the story of Jesus’ resurrection.

“Back again with another Bible study,” he said in an Instagram video, reading Mark 16, which details “resurrection morning.”

He said, “The tomb was empty, and that’s the most important part in the Bible.”

“You have to realize the mindset Mary was in. Jesus, her son, had just been crucified. An innocent man. And she still shows up to anoint the body,” Jemison explained. “I can’t even imagine how I would feel if my child was gone, and I still show up the next morning. I couldn’t imagine the strength you need to do that, and even with that, her going to anoint the body, there was another problem in hand…’how am I going to anoint the body?’”

The NBA star continued, “She still showed up.”

“My message today is that Mary lost her son. Mary didn’t have a way to anoint him….but she still showed up,” he said. “And that’s my word for you all today is, even when you feel like you lost it all, even when you feel like, ‘How am I going to do it?’ — still show up. Keep showing up, despite what you see. Watch God cut up and change everything and give you double, 100-fold of what you prayed for.”

Jemison often shares Bible study videos on Instagram. In a 2025 video, he encouraged his followers to fully put their trust in God.

“Everybody can speak up, and that’s a blessing,” he explained. “I think, speak your mind, but it comes to a point in time where people will put their fears, their doubts, their insecurities, all to you, and even if they might be correct, if what they are saying is correct about you, I want you to end this sentence with ‘but God.’”

Jemison continued, “This is you putting your natural with God’s supernatural, you don’t have it all figured out. Nobody does. But when people are going to speak death into you and not speak life into you, I need you to do me this favor and say, ‘but God.’ If they say, ‘Hey, you’re not qualified enough,’ but God, ‘Hey, you’re not tall enough.’ But God. That’s my whole life story. That’s why it is a testimony today because they told me no, after no, after no. But God said he’s gonna make a way.”

The basketball player recently shared a story with fans about how he had to surrender to God’s plan to pull off his recent engagement to Alex Jean Glover last year. An injury led to a bad summer season for Jemison and “suddenly, my plan for how I wanted things to go didn’t go the way I’d worked it out in my mind.”

He still went ahead with his plan to ask Glover’s parents for their blessing, and they said yes.

“I tell y’all that story because God put on my heart tonight that sometimes your plan doesn’t go the way you wanted,” Jemison explained. “God is what happened. God showed up. He showed out. And it’s such a blessing that I was able to learn from that; to lose faith in my plan and keep my trust in who is in control and just know that God is in control of my entire destiny.”

Jemison’s Bible study videos are a great way for the NBA star to connect with his fans and share his faith.
