Gary Sinise plans to share more music from his late son, Mac, with the help of some of his musician friends.
“In 2025, I found a chart Mac had written in college with his pal in the USC Pop Music program, Brett Fromson,” Sinise captioned an Instagram post. “It’s called ‘Blue Blood and Ivory.’ Turned out Oliver Schnee knew Brett from college and put me in touch. I asked Brett if he’d like to shape it up and record the song. Brett was totally game and on September 1st 2025, we were recording at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles. The same studio where everything began for Mac, recording ‘Arctic Circles’ on July 17, 2023.”
He continued, “Oliver produced, Brett sings lead, and we pulled together Mac’s pals Jake Hays, Alex Morgan and Brandon Woodward to help out. Also, vocalist Lou Roy. She sings three songs on Resurrection and Revival: Part Two, and it was so nice to have her come by to lend her incredible talent to Part Three.”

Sinise shared that he also “invited Mac’s drum mentor and pal Gregg Bisonette to come play drums on this rockin’ tune,” which was “so special.”
“I know he did it for Mac and has told me many times that Mac was one of his favorite people,” he wrote. “Mac loved Gregg and I know he’s tickled pink that Gregg and all his pals play on Blue Blood and Ivory. We added a few nice drum fills so Gregg could cut loose for Mac. Enjoy this rockin’ tune from Mac Sinise Resurrection and Revival: Part Three.”
Mac’s music was also part of the FORREST GUMP actor’s annual National Memorial Day Concert. The National Symphony Orchestra performed two pieces written by Mac.
“That is very special,” Sinise said in a statement, per USA Today. “I’m so proud to have two of my son’s works played by the National Symphony Orchestra.”
Sinise is sharing his son’s story in upcoming memoir Graceful Warrior. Mac passed away in 2024 following a battle with chordoma, a rare form of cancer. He was 33 years old.
“I felt like I was a bit of a battle buddy during this difficult time, trying to find as much strength and courage myself, as I saw that so much in our son,” Sinise told PEOPLE of the writing process. “So I really believe that, by sharing our story in this book, others who may be going through something difficult in their own lives may find hope and strength to help carry them through.”
Resurrection & Revival: Part Three is currently available for pre-order.
