LOVE ON THE SPECTRUM star Tanner Smith is speaking out about the truth of Jesus and what it takes to get to Heaven.
“At first, I thought that being good does get you to Heaven. I thought the only bad people go to [hell],” he explained in a video with Christian podcaster Ryan Smith. “But we all know bad people can change, like poachers can and burglars can.”
Smith then told Miller that his mother shared the real truth with him: “My mom told me…it’s not okay just to be good.”
Smith’s sister, Midge, chimed in and asked him, “So what else do you have to do?”
“You have to accept Jesus in your heart,” Smith boldly said.
“You have to accept Jesus in your heart. You have to know that He died on the cross for our sins. I think of one more,” he said as he tried to remember the third thing.

Miller spoke up to help Smith.
“You have to believe in your heart, you have to accept Him, and you have to share about Him with your mouth, is that the last one?” he asked.
“That’s right! That’s the one,” Smith said. “We got to pray for them.”
People in the comment section loved hearing Smith’s perspective.
“As if sweet Tanner couldn’t be any more perfect…he proudly loves Jesus too ❤️🔥” one fan said. Another added, “I love that Tanner is sharing his faith in Jesus. His smile is so contagious and he’s so kind! Thank you Tanner for being a light for Jesus in a world that can feel so dark. God bless you!”
Smith is echoing the Apostle Paul’s words found in Romans 10:9: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Smith has autism, and he rose to fame while on Seasons 2 and 3 of LOVE ON THE SPECTRUM. Recently he announced why he did not return for Season 4.
“I’m going to tell you why I’m not on Season 4,” he said in an early April Instagram video after the new season released. “LOVE ON THE SPECTRUM was one of the most amazing things that ever happened in my life.”
“It changed everything for me, and I done things that I’ve never thought I’d get to do, but I have figured something out about myself, and I want to tell you what is,” Smith reflected. “Guys, I’m not ready for a serious relationship, and I’m definitely not ready to get married yet.”
He explained, “I figured out that I want to travel. I have big dreams. Yeah, I’m not ready to be somebody’s boyfriend, so that is the honest reason why I’m not on Season 4. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to be on your social media, and you never know where else I might show up.”
Praise God for how Smith is using his platform to share the gospel with his fans!
