The second and third episodes of COUNTY RESCUE: Season Three continue the dramatic flow of the premiere episode as Andy takes stock of himself and his relationship with God after the death of his wife, and Dani and the other emergency medical team members help Andy while they work to embrace four new members into their fold. The second and third episodes of COUNTY RESCUE: Season Three create an engaging, inspiring, heartwarming, wholesome experience with appealing characters, strong performances and a strong morally uplifting worldview with strong Christian, biblical elements that celebrate the service of first responders in America and that extol faith in God, trusting in God, repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

In Episode 302, the crew covers the annual 5K Run for the Tunnel 2 Towers Fund for the families of fallen soldiers, police, fire, and other first responders. Marcos takes the new man, James, a taciturn fellow, under his wing to cover the finish line while Dani takes newcomer Emma under her wing to cover the starting line. In a heartfelt scene, James ends up counseling Andy, still recovering from the initial shock over the sudden death of his wife. Meanwhile, Brinna, the new secretary for Chief Scott, and Rose and Emma, the other new EMTs or Emergency Medical Technicians, start learning to fit in at the Station House.

Episode 303 opens with Andy and Chief Scott fishing on a lake in early morning. Scotty encourages Andy to be still and listen for God’s rhythm in Creation. In the stillness, you can connect with God and the peace that only He can bring, Scotty says. It takes patience, like fishing, he adds.

Meanwhile, Dani starts her day by thinking about giving back to the community through service and by working with others. Mistakes can happen, however. So, she wants to maintain her equilibrium while giving 100 percent.

At the Station, Brianna suggests holding a Serve Day by holding a County Rescue Volunteer Day. In fact, she shows Dani she’s already organized a clipboard for “Dani’s Team.”

Later that day, Dani and Tim help a man having an irregular heartbeat, and Adam runs into a young boy with a babysitter who’s been bitten by a snake. Also, James, who was a medic in the military, helps Emma to be more efficient by suggesting a better way to train herself. When Emma asks for things to do from Marcos, he tells her to start on the daily chores list. Finally, Marcos wonders what to do about the awkwardness that’s developed between him and Andy in the wake of the death of Andy’s wife.

The second and third episodes of COUNTY RESCUE: Season Three capitalize on the dramatic flow established by the first episode. In that heart-stirring episode, Andy and the team suffer a great loss when Andy’s wife dies in a helicopter crash while trying to rescue people in a forest fire. Also, four new team members join the Station House, including a new office manager and three new EMTs or Emergency Medical Technicians. As they continue these two stories, the second and third episodes create an engaging, inspiring, heartwarming experience with appealing characters. The whole cast does an excellent job.

Both Episode 302 and 303 have strong moral worldviews that extol ministering to the immediate needs of other people, working together as a team and encouraging one another. They also celebrate the benefits and service that first responders, in this case EMTs, bring to local American communities. Episode 302 also centers on a local charity 5K event for the Tunnel 2 Towers Fund for the families of fallen soldiers, police, fire, and other first responders. Finally, both episodes have strong, overt Christian, biblical references to God.

For example, they both stress faith and trust in God. Episode 302 also ends with a reference to the part of Hebrews 12:1 which tells us to run with perseverance or endurance the race that God has set before us. Also, Chief Scotty encourages Andy to listen for God’s rhythm in the world to connect with God and find the peace only He can bring. In another scene, James tells Andy to trust in God’s promise that good will come sooner or later, even though we live in a fallen and broken world. Finally, Dani says that, when people work together for a righteous cause, God “weaves it together into something greater, into love that endures.”

That said, the two episodes could use one or two positive reference to Jesus. Hebrews 12:2, a continuation of Verse 1, provides a perfect example, where it encourages us to look to “Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
