Jen Lilley says it’s important to let God fight our battles, recently sharing with podcaster Annie F. Downs something she learned from the Bible about what to do when facing opposition.
“How do we pray from a place of authority and a place of He can’t, versus ‘God help me. I feel like I’m getting crushed’?” Downs asked.
“I think we just yield to the Lord and let Him fight the battle,” Lilley responded. “It’s like, I don’t actually need to address the enemy. He’s not worth my time. Jesus already…it’s completed. It is finished, and I just need to hide myself in Jesus and be still and know that [He’s] the Lord.”

A common scripture that reminds us of this truth is Exodus 14:14, which says, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Lilley continued, “The Lord fights His battle. I’m reading Samuel right now, until the Lord takes me down another route. I just kind of stumbled upon 1 Samuel. And there’s this great story you know, I’m sure where…I believe it was the Philistines…they take the Ark. And they’re cursed. And, you know, Dagon, their god, they set [the Ark] up in their temple, and Dagon, the god, keeps falling in front of it.”
“It’s like, that was just the Ark of the Covenant; that wasn’t the Lord. But like, the Lord is like, ‘Even from a box, I got this. I can fight my own battles,’ and we have the Holy Spirit with us all the time.”
Lilley frequently shares her faith online and uses her platform to encourage fans. She plans to take her influence to college campuses to share the gospel with students.
“I had this spiritual vision of a bright pink wave popping up all over college campuses, accompanied by a fire and revival of the Holy Spirit,” the actress told CBN last month. “And I was like, ‘Lord, what is this?’ And He gave me the name, ‘Wake Up Your Campus.’”
She added, “I find that there’s a lot in common with the ‘Jesus People’ and the hippies in the ’70s with the modern-day Gen Zs, kids who are in college right now. What the similarity is they’re seeking truth in a lot of the wrong places, but they’re done with gimmicks, they’re done with sales pitches. They just — they don’t like division — they really just want truth.”
If you’re facing a battle today, remember that God can and will fight for you.
