Your Perfect Summer Soundtrack Has Arrived—With a Hallmark Twist

Need the perfect summer soundtrack? Look no further — Hallmark will release a playlist of songs from THE WAY HOME, including original music, covers and scores.

“The music of THE WAY HOME is an intrinsic part of the series and has been expertly used to set the time and place of each era,” Michelle Vicary, head of programming at Hallmark Media, said. “We are so proud of this incredible show and grateful to our loyal fans, so deciding to release these tracks they’ve fallen in love with was an easy one to make.”

The playlist will include many songs performed by Sadie Laflamme-Snow, whose character on THE WAY HOME is an aspiring singer-songwriter. It features originals like “By the Light of the Moon” and “Everything I Wanted,” as well as covers like “Time After Time” and “Summer Breeze.”

“We are beyond delighted to be able to do this for THE WAY HOME fans, who have been asking for the release of our incredible original songs and score since Season 1,” co-showrunners and executive producers Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke said in a statement. “Music has always been such an important element of our show — not only because it’s a huge passion for our Landry family across several generations, but because it’s such a poignant and perfect way to mark the new eras and time periods that our characters have gotten to explore.”

The soundtrack is something THE WAY HOME’s crew have been teasing fans with for awhile; last year, Conkie spoke to TVLine about the possibility of releasing a soundtrack.

“It’s been so lovely to see a lot of people asking about it, and we’re really hopeful that we can make something happen, especially with those songs, because we want them to be heard,” she said. “[The] thing is, with these episodes, you only hear a little fraction of them, but they’ve been fully recorded by our cast, and they’re beautiful.”

The fourth season of THE WAY HOME is currently airing, and Conkie and Clarke have been preparing fans for an emotional finish.

“Our hearts were in the scripts,” Conkie told TV Guide. “The actors came to a new level. It’s going to be a hard watch as it gets closer to the end, but it’s very satisfying.”

Clarke added, “Everyone just held hands and jumped together. It was a beautiful, beautiful season.”

THE WAY HOME’s playlist will be released on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and anywhere else you stream music on June 12.
