The new “From Scroll to Soul” guide from IgniteAmerica’s Ignite NextGen is free, downloadable today and built around a straightforward conviction: Gen Z Christians are already spending hours on social media — they just need encouragement and a practical plan to start talking about Jesus there.
“Young people are already spending hours every day online, building relationships and influencing conversations,” said Barry Meguiar, Founder and President of IgniteAmerica. “Ignite NextGen is helping them recognize they can use those same platforms to share hope, truth and the message of Jesus in ways that are authentic and personal.”
The numbers behind the effort are hard to brush past. According to Lifeway Research, 27% of churchgoers say they haven’t shared their faith with anyone in the past six months. Meanwhile, Springtide Research Institute reported that 94% of Gen Z use at least one social media platform daily — a gap IgniteAmerica believes represents one of the most significant missed opportunities in modern ministry.
The guide packs real tools into a digestible format. Inside are platform-specific tips for TikTok, Instagram and Threads, a seven-day Faith Creator Challenge, guidelines for maintaining emotional and spiritual health online and a “What’s Your Faith Sharing Voice” quiz. The guide states plainly: “This isn’t a sermon. It’s a playbook. God will use your feed to reach hearts.”

One of the guide’s core arguments pushes back against the perfection trap — the idea that you need to sound theologically polished before you post anything. God, the guide argues, has already uniquely wired each believer’s voice and personality for influence.
“Many young Christians want to talk about their faith, but they feel pressure to sound perfect or polished before they write and post,” Meguiar said. “‘From Scroll to Soul’ gives them practical encouragement to start where they are, engage online naturally and trust God to work through ordinary conversations.”
Meguiar is an unexpected face for a Gen Z digital evangelism initiative — and that contrast is part of what makes the story worth telling. He’s the third-generation president of Meguiar’s Car Wax, the top-selling car wax in America, and spent 18 years hosting the “Car Crazy” television show on Discovery Channel Networks globally.
He now runs the daily “Ignite with Barry Meguiar” radio segment on more than 800 Christian stations across 47 states. Ministry honors include the National Religious Broadcasters’ Billy Graham Award, Moody Bible’s 1886 Legacy Award, and an honorary doctorate from Northwest University.
The initiative lands as churches continue searching for ways to engage younger generations who increasingly form relationships and explore spiritual questions through digital spaces rather than institutional ones. IgniteAmerica holds that those spaces aren’t competition for the church — they’re a mission field. “From Scroll to Soul” is available free at igniteamerica.com/nextgen.
