Michael Bergin and Kelly Packard are in for the BAYWATCH reboot.
The two will reprise their original roles as lifeguards Jack “J.D.” Darius and April Giminski, respectively, according to Variety.
“Daring ocean rescues, pristine beaches and iconic red bathing suits are back, along with a whole new generation of Baywatch lifeguards, who navigate complicated, messy personal lives in this action-packed reboot that demonstrates there’s the family you’re born into and the family you find,” a synopsis of the reboot reads, per IMDB.
Packard took to social media after her first day filming, gushing about how “good” it felt to return to her roots.
“What a day! It felt good to be back on set! I can’t believe it has been 30 years!!!!!” the actress wrote.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Packard was a BAYWATCH regular in seasons eight and nine, while Bergin was a lead star for seasons eight through 11. He returned for the made-for-television movie BAYWATCH: HAWAIIAN WEDDING. The original BAYWATCH ran from 1989-2003, per IMDB.
The pair join other original stars David Chokachi (Cody Madison) and Erika Eleniak (Shauni McClain). Stephen Amell will lead the reboot cast as Hobie Buchannon. The other castmates include “Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Brooks Nader as Selene, Noah Beck as Luke, Livvy Dunne as Grace, Nadia Gray as Lisa and Mary McDonnell as Gayle,” per Variety.
In March, Amell shared how he’s prepping for his new role, posting a video of himself working out, lifting 225 pounds.
“Hobie wasn’t built in a day…” Amell shared in the caption of the post.
The cast is grateful to carry on BAYWATCH’s legacy.
“The world needs BAYWATCH more than ever,” Harrison told TV Insider. “In a world gone mad, people need to have joy and fun, and it’s sweet and it’s funny. And their father-daughter relationship is so charming. There’s a nostalgia element of BAYWATCH. We’re leaning into that and modernizing it in a way that’s going to be really fun and cool.”
“The show is aspirational. The show is fun. The show is funny, almost always intentionally,” Amell added. “We’re all just having a really great time filming it. Hopefully, the timing is good.”
Amell praised the crew who are making the series come to life.
“Every big story starts with the people you don’t see on screen. Proud to be in the trenches with this crew. Tomas and the whole team are the real deal,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.
BAYWATCH is slated for a January 2027 premiere on Fox.
