Ten years after a gunman shot and killed Christina Grimmie while she was signing autographs at an Orlando concert, her family is answering grief the only way they seem to know how — by getting to work.

“Ten years feels like forever and like yesterday all at once,” said Bud Grimmie, Christina’s father and author of the forthcoming memoir Steady Love. “We’re not just remembering her. We’re carrying her forward. And that is exactly what she would have wanted.”

The Christina Grimmie Foundation has announced a full month of commemorations for June 2026, marking 10 years since her death on June 10, 2016. Christina was 22 years old — a singer-songwriter, YouTube phenomenon, and beloved THE VOICE finalist — when she was killed. As Movieguide® covered at the time, her brother Marcus wrestled the shooter to the ground, and at a vigil in their New Jersey hometown he said of his sister that she “loved this town…loved singing…loved the Lord.”

At the center of June’s events is a brand-new 30-minute documentary, CHRISTINA GRIMMIE: HER VOICE AND LEGACY A DECADE LATER, premiering June 10 on Christina’s own YouTube channel — the same platform where she first shared her voice with millions. Directed by Chris Grant Jr. and produced by The GLMG Production Company in collaboration with ZXL Music, it traces her journey from bedroom recordings to THE VOICE to the tragedy of 2016 and beyond. The film refuses to let that night be the final word.

“Christina was my little sister, my best friend, and the most fearless person I’ve ever known,” said Marcus Grimmie, Christina’s brother and The Living Tombstone’s tour manager and lead guitarist. “She didn’t just sing for you. She sang with you.”

Marcus’s band, The Living Tombstone, makes their Philadelphia debut at Franklin Music Hall on Saturday, June 6 at 8 PM — a benefit concert for the Christina Grimmie Foundation, with tickets available at axs.com. It marks the band’s first-ever Philadelphia performance, making it a historic evening on every level.

Grimmie Fest, running June 5–7 in the New Jersey/Philadelphia area, kicks off with a trivia night and gallery showcasing personal items, fashion pieces, and career highlights, and closes with a trip to Ocean City — one of Christina’s favorite New Jersey spots. Full details are at grimmiefest.com.

Also arriving this month is Bud Grimmie’s memoir, Steady Love: What Every Heart Longs For, a personal account of navigating the deaths of both his daughter and his wife Tina — and finding his way back through faith and grace. The book doesn’t flinch from the questions grief demands: Is there more beyond this life? Is there a God who sees us — even in our worst moments? His answer is a testimony: that even the most devastating endings can become, in God’s hands, divine beginnings.

In Trenton, the New Jersey Senate is set to vote on bipartisan legislation that would designate June 10 as Christina Grimmie Day throughout the state. The bill has drawn support from both parties — fitting for someone whose voice never stayed within any one lane.

Undergirding all of it is the Foundation’s 10 for TEN campaign, which invites fans worldwide to donate $10 and share their favorite Christina memory using #DecadeOfChristinaGrimmie, #10ForTenCGF, and #DecadeofGrimmie. Since its founding, the Christina Grimmie Foundation has provided over 300 families affected by gun violence with unrestricted grants totaling $600,000. To participate, visit the 10 for TEN campaign page or text “10FORTEN” to 44321.
