Christianity is rising dramatically in America, and that is something to celebrate! In the most recent State of the Bible report by the American Bible Society, reports found that bible use has raised significantly since last year.
The report reads, “This year there’s better news: 10 million more American adults are Bible Users. The total amount of 110 million represents 41 percent of the adult population. This is the highest total since our 2021 report.”
In 2024, Bible use was at an all-time low of 38%. This year so far, it has risen to 41% which may not sound like much, but that translates to millions.
The report also noted another encouraging result: “Millennials are leading the way in this move toward greater Bible Use, and in every generation, men are using the Bible more.”

In an Instagram video posted on the American Bible Society’s account, Dr. John Plake shared some more insights on Christianity in America.
“People who attend church weekly are far more likely to say they’re growing spiritually, they’re being encouraged, using their God given gifts, and that their pastor really cares about them,” he said.
He noted that those who attend monthly are statistically “no better than those who only show up twice a year.”
In a discussion on the topic with Relevant Magazine, Amanda Williams of She Reads Truth said, “What I am seeing is a desire to read Scripture and see what it really says, as opposed to what other people are saying about the Bible.”
She added, “The discipline of Bible reading is important, but bigger than that is the invitation to Bible reading—that you’re invited to read every day. The audacity of that invitation, that God does give us Scripture because he wants to be known… on my best days that overshadows the shoulds.”
Williams also noted that a culture that publicizes quiet serene mornings reading the bible may actually harm people from doing so.
“If you’re going to have the Bible as part of your everyday life, then what that actually looks like is not always pretty and serene and emotional and quiet,” she said. “Sometimes it looks like just meditating on a verse you’ve tucked away… sometimes it looks like white-knuckling it and reading a chapter a day, even if I don’t really know what the Lord is doing.”
People must be catching on, however, as numbers grow. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” The bible is supposed to lead us day by day, and it is a wonderful thing that more Americans are realizing that.
