AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS FAST channel will soon launch on Samsung TV Plus.
AFV host Alfonso Ribeiro will host the channel, which will come out sometime this year. It will feature over 200 episodes from recent seasons of AFV. Samsung TV Plus will host the channel exclusively, Deadline reported Nov. 5.
“For more than three decades, AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS has kept audiences laughing, and we’re proud to be the exclusive home of its first-ever FAST channel hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro,” Salek Brodsky, SVP and Global Head of Samsung TV Plus, said in a statement. “Ribeiro’s episodes celebrate the everyday moments and lighthearted humor that make AFV such an enduring favorite.”
This is the first time AFV has a FAST channel of its own. The show, which is in its 36th season, will continue to be on ABC on Sunday nights.

Samsung recently launched a “new music channel, BillboardTV, on Samsung TV Plus,” SammyGuru reported. The channel features music news, live shows, interviews and event coverage 24/7. Samsung also introduced its own Samsung Television Network (STN), a broad-FAST channel.
Ribeiro, a father of four, has been AFV’s host for nearly 10 years. The show’s former host, Tom Bergeron, retired with 15 seasons under his belt.
“There’s got to be a sincerity and a connection with the audience,” AFV exec producer Vin Di Bona said at the time Ribeiro joined. “You’ve got to be someone who cares about kids. That connection you make with the audience is of the utmost importance to me.”
“That’s something you just don’t get by reading copy,” he explained. “In our auditions, it just became very, very apparent that Alfonso is a genuinely nice man.”
As an experienced Broadway star and TV actor, Ribeiro wasn’t a fresh face to some of his audience.
“I’ve definitely spent a lot of time in the past decade in host-land,” Ribeiro told Variety. “I think I’ll be able to really connect with the games they like to play with the audience and with the interviews and banter. I love talking to people.”
Episode 6 of Season 36 of AFV, “Matrimonial Mayhem, Pranksters, and Snow Snafus,” will premiere this Sunday on ABC.
